Hi,

I bought simple catch pro. Yesterday I created a child theme and today I get this message:

Update Download and Instructions
Please note: make a backupof the Theme inside your WordPress installation folder/wp-content/themes/ my child

To update the Theme, login to your account, head over to your downloads section and re-download the theme like you did when you bought it.

Extract the zip’s contents, look for the extracted theme folder, and after you have all the new files upload them using FTP to the /wp-content/themes/ my child folder overwriting the old ones (this is why it’s important to backup any changes you’ve made to the theme files ).

If you didn’t make any changes to the theme files, you are free to overwrite them with the new ones without the risk of losing theme settings, pages, posts, etc, and backwards compatibility is guaranteed.

So far so good. If I change back to the original parent theme no update news are displayed.

Under themes it also shows the following:

Broken Themes
The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.

Name
Description

Simple Catch Pro
Template is missing.

What shall I do? As fas as I can see the Theme is working and can´t be updated.

@hendrik: Can you send me your site URL. If you have created the child theme for simple catch pro theme then in your stylesheet style.css you need to define
Template: simple-catch-pro

If you want to update the Simple Catch Pro theme then you can download it from your account in Catch themes.

I created a child with one-click-child-theme.

My child wants to get updated. When I activate the parent there is no message that I need to update. Thanks

Hi,

So in the editor I have the pro version two times and one of them is corruptes/the template is missing. The other version is ok.

If I go to themes it is only shown one time.

Ok it still shows the update message for the child theme but there is no currupted theme anymore and only one pro theme in the editor. How that happend I don´t know really.

Hi Henry,

Don’t worry about this. Can you add the same version in your child theme and then you will stop receiving the update notice.
