Since you are professional web designers, I thought you might have opinions about the use of Pagebuilders in WordPress. Are they worthwhile or would I be better off just writing code myself for custom pages?

I ask because I have been using WPBakery Pagebuilder on my WordPress site. I tried several page builder plugins and this seemed to be the best value/function combo. It is kind of cool. It has lots of options and it is easy enough to use, but the code it creates is so convoluted that it is hard to customize it. Even more importantly, I am concerned about all that extra stuff bogging down the site once I have my real high-res images up.

    Thanks,
    Destin

    P.S.
I like the design of your themes. The code is very nicely organized and seems quite well-designed. I have been reading it to help me remember coding I learned 20 years ago. The php part is coming back pretty quickly (surprisingly) but the CSS has changed a lot since I learned due, I am sure, to the evolution of tablets and phones. Your code is complex and I dont like to edit it without understanding it fully but reading it has really helped me a lot. It is directing me to the things I need to learn or relearn. Your stuff renders very nicely on my Galaxy note so its a great model for me. I actually like that version better than the regular website. It looks very clean and professional. You have my compliments.

@destinblack: Well usage of page builders has both pros and cons. With page builders you can get nice custom layouts, no coding required it is all drag and drop and has lots of features. The disadvantages is that the customization you have made at the front end will be converted into complex shortcodes by the page builder and shortcodes are plugin specific so when you deactivate the plugin the shortcodes no longer work. You may be compelled to use the plugin even if you don’t want to as you will need to build the website from the scratch. Use of page builder may also result in sluggish loading which is bad for SEO. So I think depends on individuals whether to use it or not.
Thank you for appreciating our themes.

    Kind Regards,
