    Hi,

Why don’t you answer about this topic : https://catchthemes.com/support-forum/topic/catch-gallery-plugin-not-responsive/

We are several people looking for support because we have paid premium themes and the plugins are not as described.

This is a first warning because you don’t give us any answer for more than a week,
    Take care

    @bastienchill: Hello Bastien,
    Sorry for the late reply.

The Gallery images can be made responsive into a single column only while the Gallery Type is Thumbnail Grid as the column option is only available in this type. We are trying to look if anything can be done for other gallery types. Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

    Kind Regards,
    Skandha

    @bastienchill: Hello Bastien,
As you can see the gallery images scale according to the size of the screen. The images become smaller as the screen size decrease so yes the design is responsive but it doesn’t switch to single column layout on smaller screens.

    Kind Regards,
    Skandha

Responsive means it adapts to the screen size, not reducing size but keeping the visibility consistent threw the size change.
Imagine if the text was just scaled down in size the same way you describe with images ? Is this a big joke ?
We can’t see the images properly within a gallery setting several columns on smartphone screen size !

    Hi @bastienchill,

Sorry for the trouble you are facing with the plugin. We understand what you actually mean and seek for the support. Tiled design is made in such a way that it gives a mosaic effect and give the site an attractive look. And the issue you are having here is that in small screen the images look bit small. We kept it that way as to retain the design (Tiled). There won’t be meaning of tiled design if the images as shown just like normal.
For the responsive design that you are seeking (show images in single column design on small devices), please use Thumbnail Grid in gallery type (and not Tiled).
Hope you understand. Let me know if we can help you any further.

    Regards,
    Mahesh

    Hi,

I am already using thumbnail grid for most of my content and the issue is the same, the number of columns and images size isn’t responsive at all !
This is totally misleading advertising !

    Hi @bastienchill,

I’ve checked your website and found the following page with Thumbnail Grid layout.
    https://bastienchilloux.com/yassin-on-m-a-dit/

This page is working fine as per the responsiveness the plugin provides. On large screen, images are shown on the chosen columns and on small screen, the layout automatically changes to one-column layout showing one image stacked on top of each other which is a principle of a responsive design. Therefore, this is not a misleading advertising.
And on other pages with tiled gallery I’ve explained the design on the previous reply above.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Mahesh

    Are you joking ?

I have tweaked CSS codes myself to get as close as possible to this result !
Indeed, I managed to do your job !
My codes are not perfect but it takes me a long time to get there !

So, if I understand well, you are attributing my work to your team ?
What is that ?? What did I pay for ?

Solve this by updating your own plugin with proper embedded CSS codes to make it naturally responsive as it should be !
Test it yourself, not on my customized pages from my website.

Waiting for you to be a bit more serious considering my/our request !

    Hi @bastienchill,

No, this is not a joke.

First of all, we are not attributing your work to our team.

And sure enough you may have tweaked the CSS to match your requirement but even without tweaking anything, the plugin works fine and good with responsiveness. We don’t know what you want for responsive design. Please clear on this with an example (screenshot) if possible. Why are you using 3 columns option if you want 2 column design, select 2 column from the option while creating or editing the gallery. (Note: In small devices its automatically changing to 1 column -> Responsive Design)

We’ve mentioned about how the design works with tiled and thumbnail-grid they have their own pros and cons and the user may choose one that suits their website. And we do test on our own sites we were just checking where you were facing the issue on your site.

If there were any bugs to be fixed, our team will resolve it prior to anything. But since there isn’t any, we’ve nothing to fix.

Please let us know clearly about your requirements about responsive design.

    Regards,
    Mahesh

So why not tell me/us that you have update your plugin on April 21st ?
It would have been easier to just say your plugin was responsive and you were working on it, no ?

Indeed I have tweaked a CSS code because there where no solution for responsive gallery at that time and only the 3 columns code was working properly on my end with my custom CSS code !

Of course, it is working better know, but why not tell me about it rather than saying you couldn’t fix that ? Kind of awkward behavior, right ?

The plugin still doesn’t display 1 column on desktop browser when reducing it’s width to the minimum. My CSS code does that but your plugin should do it natively, no ?

    Hi @bastienchill,
May be we’ve missed the notice for update last time, my sincere apologies for that.

I glad that we finally came to some solution. On the last update, the gallery changes to One-Column on devices with width less than 480px. Seems this is bit too much, so we’ve update and added more breakpoints for better responsiveness. This version will be released by tomorrow. Once released, I’ll let you know on this thread.

    Mahesh

That’s great ! Thank you for considering my request.

Can’t you find a solution to do the same with mosaic galleries so that they display photos in a single column on small screen devices !
It’d be much appreciated as the gallery plugin would be perfectly responsive as intended !

    Take care

    @bastienchill: Hello Bastien,
I am afraid it is not possible to display photos in a single column on mosaic galleries. This is only possible on thumbnail grid.

    Kind Regards,
    Skandha
