After installing the Social Gallery Lite, the installation wizard never appeared and I was not able to see anything but the settings and the page that tells me I can subscribe to the email list, no option to start a gallery. I installed it on another website to see if I had the same problem and it worked fine, so I started experimenting to see whether it was an incompatible theme or conflicting gallery plugins. I added another gallery plugin (wonderplugin gallery, which I have used for video galleries) to the second site and it immediately took away the options to add a gallery on Social Gallery Lite, so I deactivated and deleted the second gallery plugin. Social Gallery Lite still did not work, so I deleted it and reinstalled it and never got the installation wizard and it still won’t work, even being the only gallery plugin. I really want to experiment with this but can’t create a gallery, only subscribe to email. I’ve searched forums and just can’t find any ideas. Suggestions? (I don’t want to delete my old galleries until I can recreate them in the new format if it works the way I hope it does.)

@cesudweeks: For Gallery, we recommend either default WordPress Gallery or use JetPack plugin “Gallery Module”. We haven’t use Social Gallery Lite plugin so don’t know much about it. If you want to use that plugin then you need to post in that plugin author support from about this issue. As we use default WordPress functions. So, that plugin author should have answer for this.

Can you post in your site URL where you have issue so that I can check in.

You asked for the url. http://www.buhlerfarm.com/
This is a webpage I’ve done for a friend, as a gift of thanks for things he’s done for our family. It is just for his large family and extended relatives. The gift was really the interview of his uncle (the cameras and Adobe are more my strength, I haven’t as much with websites) and digitizing all their family media. I need a gallery that will allow for comments on individual pictures so that people can share memories and help identify the pictures. The regular WordPress gallery is useless for this purpose. I put the photos into albums using WP Photo Album Plus which allows individual comments, but it is cumbersome and hard to get to the picture you specifically want to find. So I went looking for a better option and found Social Gallery Lite which will have a cleaner tiled gallery and a better way to let the family share their memories related to individual pictures. I think the plugin does not like to be installed with the Wondergallery plugin I used for my video galleries. I played with the combination on another website (sudweeksfamily.com) that I haven’t had any time to actually work on, and did not have any galleries set up. Social Lite worked until I installed the wondergallery plugin. When I tried uninstalling both, and reinstalling the one, it would no longer work – would not give me the installation wizard again to set it up. I’m trying to work with the plugin author as well, it’s just really geared at support only for those who use the pro version and since I’m doing this for free for a non-business purpose, I don’t really want to pay for the pro version. Thanks for responding. It was a long shot but sometimes you just have to attempt the long shots to find answers.

@cesudweeks: This clearly show that there is conflict between plugins Social Lite and wondergallery plugin.

So, I see only option is to contact that plugin author to fix the plugin conflict. You can also ask how to re-run the installation wizard in that plugin support.

No, you don’t need to pay for Pro version to get my support. I give support to both free and pro version equally.
