Hi Sakin D:
I broke my website whilst fidgeting with this last night. I changed a setting I wasn’t totally familiar with and now I have a redirect loop
beatmania.co.nz/login redirects back to beatmania.co.nz
As a result, even I can’t login. To od have access to the backend, so what I would like to do is identify the line of code in the theme’s configuration file – I think this might help?And if it does help/fix it, where do I find the theme’s settings file? I’ve already looked in the themes directory but didn’t see anything obvious
September 22, 2015 at 2:29 pm #67258beatmaniaNZMemberUpdate. if it helps.
Clicking login button does this and the path will build in length if you click login againSeptember 22, 2015 at 10:30 pm #67277SakinKeymaster@beatmaniaNZ: This looks like plugin issue. So, try deactivating plugin one by one to find the conflicting plugin.
September 23, 2015 at 12:01 pm #67311beatmaniaNZMemberYeah – through my website host backend, I renamed the entire plug-in director to plugins-old, reloaded my site and still couldn’t log-in
September 23, 2015 at 12:03 pm #67312beatmaniaNZMemberI just tried this again – no luck – it was a theme settings I changed last before it broken 🙁
September 24, 2015 at 11:37 pm #67414SakinKeymaster@beatmaniaNZ: None of our themes have setting for login. You can try changing theme.
September 25, 2015 at 12:01 pm #67450beatmaniaNZMemberOh, Okay – so if it is a theme problem, is it possible to overwrite the theme with the catchresponsive-pro version I purchased?
if that doesnt work;
How do I change the theme when I can’t login to the dashboard?September 25, 2015 at 1:56 pm #67454SakinKeymaster@beatmaniaNZ: It is not theme problem. Please contact your hosting support for this. To switch team you can just delete theme from FTP. Then it will load default TwentyFifteen theme.
September 25, 2015 at 2:00 pm #67455SakinKeymaster@beatmaniaNZ: Looks like you have try to add in custom Login. Check your registration and login plugin.
September 25, 2015 at 3:50 pm #67488beatmaniaNZMemberHi Sakin – sorry to say but you’re wrong on both counts.
I solved this issue earlier this evening. How?
Well I knew the last thing I changed was a Theme related setting, IE: Static front pageI logged into my hosting provided and simply reuploaded a default untouched version of your theme (before I got my dirty mitts on it ;))
This fixed the problem quite nicely, and seeing as I hadn’t customized or widgeted with your theme that much, it was easy to put everything back the way it was 🙂
September 25, 2015 at 4:17 pm #67516SakinKeymaster@beatmaniaNZ: Static Front page is WordPress core function. You can change that from “Appearance => Customize” or from “Settings => Readings”.
Anyway, it’s great that you fixed it.
