To be sure everything is as should be I copied the above “footer.php” file into the theme’s directory. Now I’m back where I started: a copyright note and theme info – in English. So, what part should I modify in order to change the language but without losing any of this information?

@Jaime: Languages are in your .mo and .po files that you generate from .pot file.

Really? So you must have a different “catch-evolution.pot” file than me – in mine the expressions “All rights reserved” or “Powered by” are not included.
