Working on a site with Rock Star, I notice that the featured slider (showing pages) has a weird issue with the height of the slider elements. After fist load, the space for the slider seems much too high, making the forward/back buttons and the dots (at the bottom) to be placed too low.
Only after all slides have passed and the slider goes back to the fist slide, or if the browser window size is changed, the height gets adjusted to fit the slide images.
This seems to happen on Chrome and Firefox, I’ve not tested other browsers.
No idea if this is related to a particular theme setting but when I switch to the Demo slider content, the issue is gone. And what also strikes me as odd, is that the demo slides are correctly adapted to the window height, unlike the custom page featured images even though they have the same original 1920×1080 dimensions…
Please see http://dustbindev.aufildudoux.net (I set slide delay to 0 for easier debugging)
What’s going wrong?October 20, 2018 at 12:13 am #157163
@ravanh: I think it’s got to do with the image loader. So, can you go to “Appearance => Customize => Featured Slider” and change the value of “Image Loader”October 22, 2018 at 11:38 am #157305
Hi @Sakin i tried all Image Loader options and it’s now at “True” but it does not seem to change anything. Also disabled the Social Icons option.October 22, 2018 at 11:52 am #157306
Ah ! Found it 🙂
Turns out to be caused by the Lazy Images module in Jetpack. Once turned off, the slider gets the correct height again 🙂
Any possibility to make the slider compatible with the lazy load module? Maybe simply by excluding slider images via https://developer.jetpack.com/hooks/jetpack_lazy_images_blacklisted_classes/ (attached-page-image or wp-post-image?) since they are at the top of the page anyway…October 22, 2018 at 12:59 pm #157319
