Theme: Catch Mustang

I have tried everything I can think of and I still can not get the Catchtheme: Featured Gallery widget working on the homepage.

In addition when I create a gallery using your CT Gallery Post if I use photos already in my media library they do not show in the gallery at all. This has to be an issue with the theme as they are showing up fine with other themes, in fact they show fine on your free Everest theme.

It is really starting to annoy me now, the instructions you have provided are nowhere near sufficient in giving the user any idea of what they have to do, for a premium theme this is poor.

@Tim: You cannot use the image already in the Media. You need to add image from that particular Gallery Post.

Now I am confused.

I click on CT Galleries
Then Click on Add New
Upload the images (choice here is upload from computer or use existing Media library)
Then I assign Feature Image
and Publish

THe Galleries appear on the gallery page (well at least the Feature Images do)
When you click on the feature image to enter the Gallery if I have loaded from the Computer they appear. If I have used the photos in my media library they do not appear.

When I add the CatchTheme Featured Gallery Widget the galleries are listed but it doesn’t matter which one I select when the Widget is added to a Sidebar (it doesn’t matter which one) nothing shows up on the website!

Also the format of the Gallery and their presentation appears to be fixed, it complete ignores the Jetpack Carousel settings is this correct?

@Tim: Yes you are right, Gallery Custom Post Type will only take the image added in that particular post from your computer and not from your media library.

Then when you add Gallery Post in your sidebar. You need to go to “Appearance => Widgets” and then Drag and Drop “Catchthemes: Featured Gallery” widget, where you have to select your Gallery Post.

Jetpack will not work on Gallery Post Type. Maybe you can try it in Normal post if you want to use Jetpack gallery.

Okay so the creation of the Gallery posts via the CT Gallery now makes sense (although quite odd because the guidance that is provided implies that Media Library photos can be used)

I don’t have the option to drag and drop a gallery post on to side bar.

The widget has an edit button and this allows me to specify the location (ie the sidebar to position to the widget, with a option to select one gallery from the list.

This is the bit that doesn’t work. Nothing appears on the website when selected.

Basically what I am trying to create is a recent galleries section that shows 6 galleries that when clicked on takes the visitor directly the associated gallery.

Just like the bottom righthand section of your demo site illustrates. This is th main reason I purchased the theme.

So far nothing I have tried has worked.

@Tim: The buttoom right in demo uses “Catchthemes:Featured Gallery” and choose the gallery page. I will email you in case if you need help with this.

I’m working on Catch Mustang v2.3 and have same issue; can’t get the gallery to display as on the demo site.

Also, no matter how I sort the images in the actual gallery post, they show up in the order uploaded. Is that how it works??

Seems buggy to me 🙂

PS – I can get other widgets like the Testimonials widget to display fine in the Homepage Right Sidebar, just not the Gallery widget.
