The page title showing in my blog reads simply, “Blog:”.

How do I get it to actually display the page title? I’ve tried several different snippets and custom CSS such as the one found at https://wpscholar.com/blog/get-title-for-posts-page-in-wordpress/ but none of them work. There must be a way to display the actual name of the page instead of just Blog:

To change the Blog page title
Go to => Appearance => Customize => Theme Options => Homepage/Frontpage Settings => Recent Posts Heading => Edit the heading and Publish.

Hi Skandha, thanks but that doesn’t change anything. I don’t know where WP is getting the page title from, but what it’s displaying is the word “Blog:” (with colon, without quotations).

If you can tell me where it pulls the page title from that’d be great.

Hi, sorry if this is a dupe, I thought I replied but don’t see my reply in this thread.

Thanks but that’s not what I want. I don’t know where WP is pulling the page title from, but it thinks the page title is “Blog:” (with the colon but without the quotation marks).

If you can tell me where it’s getting the title from, I can just go edit it in the code. Using the customizer doesn’t change the page title as displayed in the middle of the header image at the top of the page, and that’s what I want changed.

I’ve no idea why it suddenly changed, but it did. The colon is still there, but the title has changed. This seems to have worked, although I tried it many times before and it didn’t.
