Without messing with the code and with the Excerpt/More Tag Settings set under Theme Options, excerpts don’t work at all.
The only thing I found that made the excerpts work in a way, is that in content.php, I changed “the_content” to “the_excerpt”. While this does make excerpts according to the Excerpt/More Tag Settings, the excerpts happen on the posts as well, so I can’t view the entire post.
I tried the “the_content” to “the_excerpt” thing in other files (like the “content-page.php”) but it looked like nothing happened.
