Should the slider and featured images elements on the homepage use the thumbnail generated sizes or are they only using the default image size as uploaded? I see all images not coming up with the thumbnail defaults for the sizes of the elements that should be on that page.

all of the images are full size images using broswer resize so its 36mb home page.
March 20, 2018 at 3:07 pm #133809osPriyaParticipantRunning regenerate thumbnails right now again just to be sure that is done correctly
March 20, 2018 at 9:06 pm #133828osPriyaParticipantThese would be the slider images and the featured posts images that i’m having problems with.
March 22, 2018 at 8:57 pm #133947osPriyaParticipantCan someone help me? It’s been a few days and i’d like to get this fixed.
When I view the image in the theme configuration by choosing appearance -> customization -> Featured slider i can inspect the element and see it’s using the thumbnail image
<img class="attachment-thumb" src="https://www.outsidesuburbia.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/IMG_3292-1024x439.jpg" draggable="false" alt="">
but when i view the website, all the slider images and category images are the hi-res image – not the thumbnail generated image. I’ve regenerated all thumbnails. Running latest version of theme and i’ve cleared cache and disabled jetpack cdn so they should be served from my server.

Let me know if this solves your issue.

It’s definitely not using the right thumbnail image that the docs said it should be using for slider images and category images. The rest of the site seems to thumbnail ok. I can see the thumbnail is generated for the right image size, theme just isn’t using it.
March 26, 2018 at 5:53 am #134154PratikKeymasterHi @osPriya,
The issue is not with the theme but your slider images. You have 18 slider images each about 2-5mb. The right thumbnail image is only used for Page/Post/Category Slider. When you use custom Image slider, it uses the exact uploaded image. You can resize your images to 1200×514 px. Then compress the image using compressor.io, then use that image for slider.
So you have two options:
1. Use Post/Page/Category slider if you want to automatically resize the image
2. Use custom Image slider and resize, then compress them image manually.Hope this helps.
