    This is going to sound very basic, but at one point I was able to edit text in a post ie change colour, style, font, etc.

    Now my posts don’t show those options. Any reason why.

    @Derek: That is your content editor in the post you have to click on Visual. If you are in text mode then you don’t have option to change it. See this http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/

    Thanks but the two tabs – text and visual aren’t appearing at the top of the text box within a post.

    Is there a setting somewhere else that I need to adjust?

    @Derek: Check your plugins. Try disabling the plugins one by one and check it. It is most likely though plugin conflict with WordPress.

    Thanks, tried that, disabled all plug ins. No joy. Any other ideas?

    @Derek: Do you have any cache plugin install then can you try clearing it. It looks like issue with your WordPress and server.

    You can also try changing the theme and see it.
