The Custom Type does not take the time parameter so it will start from the beginning. So you can embed the youtube code to a post or a page and then select that post/page as a Promotion Headline.

Header Video the default feature of WordPress works only above the screen dimension of 900px that is why the video is not showing up in mobile phones.

You can use our Header Enhancementplugin to show Header Video even on Mobile Devices.

There is no option to have a sidebar in archive page. Since you have latest posts on your homepage it is not possible to have sidebar there.
