simon olleyParticipant
Many thanks.
If I use a Catch Pro theme, would the best way to achieve the 8 or 9 sections/chapters be to create for each a separate template which would cover the coloured headers, but each would need its own side menus covering that sections pages….
but the back-end of WordPress/Everest Pro only allows for one Appearance > Available Widgets, how could the side menus be managed easily?
May 23, 2013 at 7:36 pm in reply to: Stop footer from coming up too high on pages where there is little content #9376simon olleyParticipantnice one thx
simon olleyParticipantThanks, much appreciated!
simon olleyParticipantThanks I updated to 1.2.1 and emptied cache and that has solved the menu thing.
The featured slider is still showing the inner white block on the title – will I need to rebuild the featured post sliders from scratch?
simon olleyParticipantMy site is back on Pro – no replies from Support so I am trying to help…. (have I offended you???)
I think the white block on the slider entry title I need to remove is in here somewhere..
#main-slider .entry-title {
color: #222;
padding: 0;
}
#main-slider .entry-title a,
#main-slider .entry-title span {
background: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.7);
color: #222;
display: block;
padding: 15px 25px;
padding: 1.5rem 2.5rem;}
#main-slider .entry-title a:hover,
#main-slider .entry-title span:hover,
#main-slider .entry-content:hover,
#slider-nav a:hover {
color: #000;
background: rgba(255, 255, 255, 1);
}simon olleyParticipantI don’t seem to have had a reply to this, wonder if there is any news?
simon olleyParticipantAn interesting development… after the success of down-grading to non-pro Everest, I can no longer have a ‘posts’ page!
Whatever page I select to be the posts page ends up blank between header and footer : (
simon olleyParticipantQuick update…
I have had to revert back to regular Everest, however, amazingly the footer credit has stayed off, so in a way I am sorted, at least for now.
If you look on my site you will see no Everest credit, I had removed it in Pro before ‘downgrading’ so I guess the custom CSS stayed in there?
It would be good if you can fix the glitches above as I would like to use the custom typefaces later on.
simon olleyParticipantIn summary…
a. get rid of glitch stray word ‘menu’ at bottom of side bar widget menu
b. get rid of glitch white block and indent behind featured post slider title on homepage (the title indent also looks odd on mobile device)
c. cannot have theme name in footer (that’s basically why I upgraded to Pro)simon olleyParticipantBecause of the glitches I will have to take the Pro site down soon, I have a new client looking at my website today and I can’t afford for them to see the menu problem. Unfortunately I also cannot publish for long with the Catch Theme in the footer so the regular Everest is not much use to me.
For what it’s worth, I think the stray “Menu’ word at bottom of list is something to do with mobile sizing, but it comes in at every size
: (
simon olleyParticipantThanks Sakin – I’ve deactiveted the jquery menu still glitchy though 🙁
simon olleyParticipantThat’s strange.
Under ‘Theme options’ I added in some social links and enabled ‘Header Right Section’ and I have got my icons top right just as I wanted them, sure I am not on ‘pro’ cause I have not bought it yet!
simon olleyParticipantAt the moment I am playing with different themes trying to find the very best one for my site. Everest is a favourite though.
If I end up buying Pro, will I be able to use it one more than one of my blogs?
Also is it ok to hide the footer credits so clients think I am clever than I am?
