    Problem sorted – I added new CSS styles to the viewports which over-rode whatever was causing the elements to be hidden.

    Thank you for updating the parent theme! Of course I was prepared to make the modifications in the parent style.css in order to preserve my child theme styles, but is there a more permanent solution to switching off the color scheme for the menu bar? Such as a ‘No colour theme’ option?

    Thank you so much for pointing this out, and for getting back so quickly. That really is excellent service. I thought I was facing a huge coding job to get it to work the way I wanted.

    I had no idea this would bring back the standard WordPress excerpt, it looked like it would display the full posts.
