Thank you, Pratik.
I will look into the Essential Widgets Pro plugin.
Appearance / Editor is now set to allow editing to the main theme stylesheet – not a good idea! I want editing NOT to be allowed. Is there a way to do this?
Alice
abisbeeParticipantI did this by not putting the orphan pages on the menu. Go to Appearance / Menus and make sure that your orphan pages aren’t listed on the menu. I hope this helps.
ABBabisbeeParticipantThank you for your help, Pratik. I guess it makes more sense for me to use a sidebar for posts. Using a test page, I have added Optional Sidebar One and inserted the Recent Posts widget. That works fine. Now I want to format the sidebar contents (of course) but I am not sure of the best way to do this. (CSS? Html instead of the widget?) The test page is: https://wellnesswarriorsboston.org/pratik/
– restrict to one category (“training”)
– show some of the text of each post
– either format the “recent posts” widget title (strong) or hide the title. (I currently have html in there that shows bolded “RECENT POSTS.”)
– increase the spacing between posts (they are too tight)
– hide the Optional Sidebar One from the password screen!Is it possible to format how the posts appear when viewing?
– show post title
– hide the authors in the posts
– disable comments in the posts
– when I open a post, show Optional Sidebar One, not the primary sidebarAgain, thank you.
AliceP.S. I enabled editing – how do I disable editing again? (I know NOT to edit the stylesheet – I just wanted to see if I could find code that I could change in optional CSS.)
abisbeeParticipantThanks, Mahesh, but would you please explain what that means so that I can talk to godaddy about it?
Alice
abisbeeParticipantPlease check out NOT on the admin site. They cycle on the admin side but not when logged out. They don’t cycle for anyone who has checked, using any type of device!
(I didn’t expect you to answer on the weekend. 🙂 )

abisbeeParticipantMahesh,
We needed to go live with the site and have transferred the domain to http://wellnesswarriorsboston.org. Please use this URL when troubleshooting the site.
Thanks.
AliceabisbeeParticipantAny luck in figuring this out?
March 4, 2017 at 4:44 am in reply to: footers, padding, text formatting, header photo height #111248abisbeeParticipantNo, the code did not work, but this did:
@media screen and (min-width: 990px) {
#content .wrapper {
padding-top: 0px;
}
}Thank you for your help, Mahesh. The issues in this thread have now been resolved.
abisbeeParticipantMahesh: There are 2 “Randomized uploaded header” buttons. The order is:
Current header
Randomizing uploaded headers <– This is not enabled for selection
a list of uploaded images
Hide image – Add new image
Previously uploaded
Randomizing uploaded headers <–This is selected.The images refresh from within the development side, but not in the live site. (And yes, I “save and publish”.)
Any ideas?
Thanks, Mahesh.
AliceabisbeeParticipantMahesh: No error messages. All plugins are disabled and it still won’t cycle.
March 2, 2017 at 8:41 pm in reply to: footers, padding, text formatting, header photo height #111117abisbeeParticipantThank you for your responses, but I guess I need to clarify some things.
1, 4, 6 – Okay now.
2. This doesn’t help. Look at the home page. I am not using the menu text as a page title; I am inserting my own text – in this case, “Wellness Warriors.” I want to reduce the space between that text and the menu (which is under the header photo). I have set the text to H5 and formatted the font characteristics in CSS. Maybe I need to alter this code?
.entry-content h5 {
font-size: 30px;
font-family: times;
font-style: italic;.entry-content h5 {
font-size: 30px;
font-family: times;
font-style: italic;
}h5 {
border: 0;
font-size: 100%;
margin: 0;
outline: 0;
padding: 0;
text-align: left;
vertical-align: baseline;
line-height: 1.3;
color: #8b0000;
}3. I was referring to Footer 1, 2, 3, 4 – not the site footer. Can I reduce the top and bottom padding in those?
5. ******* Suddenly fixed. I assume you re-set something. Thank you! ****** I am referring to Footers 1-4. If you hover over the text in Footer 1 and Footer 2, they are acting like links. And if you look at where the links are pointing, it says something about “customize changeset……” and I have no idea what that means or how it got there. I just want plain text.
Thank you for your help.

February 28, 2017 at 10:44 am in reply to: indent all text in Content; change sidebar width; remove widget from header #110879abisbeeParticipantAnd now there is a masthead on the iPad.
February 28, 2017 at 10:40 am in reply to: indent all text in Content; change sidebar width; remove widget from header #110878abisbeeParticipantStill not working, I’m afraid. No menu on iPhone.
February 28, 2017 at 9:42 am in reply to: indent all text in Content; change sidebar width; remove widget from header #110869abisbeeParticipantActually, I just learned that after these last CSS changes, the menu doesn’t appear on an iPhone. Is this because we removed the masthead? How can we get it back?
Yes, I will submit a review.

We will definitely be upgrading to the Pro version of the theme because we want to use e-commerce. We want to launch this site before doing that, though.
Pro will also allow us to use a e-commerce friendly PayPal button, rather than just pointing to a PayPal site.

February 27, 2017 at 8:20 am in reply to: indent all text in Content; change sidebar width; remove widget from header #110779abisbeeParticipantThank you, Pratik. That definitely helped with the side margins. However, there is still a lot of background showing above the menu bar (where the title and search buttons used to be). Is there a way of removing that space, or at least getting it down to a very narrow strip?
Also, is there a way of moving the menu to below the header image?
And finally, at the bottom of the home page we have an image on the left and a poem to the right of the image. It looks great on a laptop or monitor, but on an iPad, the space for the text is not wide enough and is badly formatted. I could make an image with the text in it so that the whole image drops lower on an ipad, but I was wondering if you know a better way.
I appreciate your patience. You are very helpful. I think we will be done with the site once these issues are resolved. Next month we will work on the e-commerce part of the site…

As you can see, the code worked. However, now there are 2 adjustments (and a question) needed:
1. Widgets and text have now been removed from the header, but a lot of blank space remains. How can I reduce the height so that there isn’t all that wasted space up there?
2. I love the indented content, but the main content area is too narrow. How can I reduce the padding-right in the content section?
3. Will adjusting the widths of sidebar mess up the look of the site on smaller screens?
Alice
abisbeeParticipantThanks, Pratik, but my menu works fine. I just wanted to remove the menu text from the content. I found some code just now that fixes it, though.
.entry-title {
display.none;
