I’m using WordPress 5.0.1

Initially I was unable to edit Posts and Pages with the new update to 4.8. This ability to edit has been resolved with 4.8.1.

Now I’m having issues in the text editor. Two buggy things happened before I gave up on trying to edit.

1. I couldn’t apply addresses to links.
2. When I clicked Update, it started updating endlessly. I could only exit the Edit Page by leaving, without saving.

I can confirm that by disabling the Theme, I have not issues with the editor. By activating the theme, the bugs return. It seems like it could be a conflict with Gutenberg, or perhaps another plugin, but the problems go away when I switch to another theme.

Thanks in advance. Would like suggestions, but mostly reporting the issue.

Until it is fixed you can temporarily roll the theme back to when the theme last worked by installing a plugin called WP Rollback. Then go to the Theme details and a new button will appear that says Rollback. Click that and it will give you list of all the previous versions. Pick your last working version and you should be good to go without having to switch themes everytime you need to edit or update something.

@ks23admin: It is working fine in my end, You can take a look at screenshot.Can you please deactivate all the plugin and recheck your site again.I suggest you to follow this instruction. Let me know if this trick helps you out!
