In reply to: Slider Issues
rsoloskyMemberWhat helped me is to realize that this theme is designed as a blog site rather than a website, so much of the logic for functionality revolves around a blog post.
The slider images come from the featured image from an individual blog post. So create a blog post, set the featured image and then look at the number associated with it in the url (in the address bar of your browser the entire url is displayed, you’ll see post & then a number use just the number). It is best to have all these images be the same size, otherwise your engagement area (slider) jumps up & down.
Now go to Appearance > Theme Options > Featured Post Slider > Featured Post Slider Options and under the post number enter just that number from the post in the url. It will call up that specific image on your home page in the order you assign it. The heading for the image is your blog post name and you can change the caption by entering your copy in the excerpt box in the edit post section. If you don’t see excerpt you can turn it on through screen options by checking the box.
Finally, you can eliminate the featured post images which fall underneath the main image, by disabling the Homepage Featured Content under Homepage Settings >Homepage Featured Content Options.
If this is unclear or you have more questions, I can try and help, just hit me back.

dreamydayzMemberHi,
in your posts page select the post you want to use a featured image with and then on the right hand side below your categories window you will see a link called set featured image. Click this link and select an image from your library or upload one from your pc.
You may choose to edit the image if you want.
then go to your main post page and make a note of the ID number for the post you have just uploaded a featured image in.
Then in your backend go to appearance > featured slider > slider options
in the featured col# 1 box enter the ID number of the post and click save
your featured post should now be working

SakinKeymasterHi Dreamy,
The Featured Post Slider take the title, excerpt, and featured image from the post.
So you need to adjust your title and excerpt text.
You can control the overall “Excerpt Length” by typing the number of Words in “Appearance => Theme Options => Excerpt Length in Words”.
But if you like to control the excerpt text of only the post in slider then you can use the excerpt box under your post editor. See this for more details about excerpt http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/excerpts/

dreamydayzMemberhi Sakin,
Thanks for the reply and your absoulutely correct but i’ve been looking at the image slider and it actually seems like the text is causing the screen to constantly adjust. Is it possible to control the amount of text that is previewed in order to stop thes jerking effect.
many thanks

SakinKeymaster@dreamydayz: See the Theme Instruction http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/catch-box/ . The featured slider recommended size is Width: 644px and Height: 320px. If you have image with this size then it’s perfect or if you have larger then this then it will crop to this size. But if you have featured image smaller than this, then it will display the original size of image.
April 7, 2013 at 4:32 pm #6576In reply to: Featured Image?
SakinKeymaster@rsolosky: If you are using Free theme then yes it’s only used for Featured Post Slider not for page. But in Premium theme, it have Featured Image Slider where you can add link to any url.
In Catch Box and Catch Everest latest version, we have added Post ID column in “All Posts” section in WordPress Dashboard. We are adding this post ID feature in Simple Catch theme in coming version 2.3.3.
But for now you can use Catch ID’s plugin to find the post ID http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/catch-ids/
April 7, 2013 at 4:12 pm #6574In reply to: Featured Image?
SakinKeymaster@Ghettofab75: The featured image in Simple Catch Theme are used for showing it in home and category display. It is also used in Featured Post Slider. It is not used to display large image under your header. It’s depends on the theme design and this theme doesn’t do that.

SakinKeymaster@SAGE Atlanta: This mean it was working before and now it disappeared. In this case, can you tell me the plugin you have activated recently. Try disabling that and try again.

dreamydayzMemberFeatured image puts up an image of your choice in the slider
as in my blog – eatfastdiet.com
you need to select an image in your post window and note down the post id number
then go to appearance, slider options, then enter the number into your Featured Col #1
and click save
when you add more than one featured image then you will see the slide effects
hope that helps

SakinKeymaster@abkelty: When I check in your side. I see that there is only 1 featured post setup. Check your post if the Featured Post Slider.
For example this post http://artintergration.webuda.com/2/ id is 93 and another one 87. In you Featured Post Slider option put these numbers.
April 5, 2013 at 11:22 pm #6516In reply to: Gallery + Menu
SakinKeymaster@bmdesignerfashion: I don’t what are you talking about menu. You menu is working fine and you can manage your menu better though Custom Menu “Appearance => Menu”. See this http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
About your gallery page, you can increase the width for particular page by adding in the following CSS in “Custom CSS” box in Theme Options panel.
.page.no-sidebar #primary { width: 100%; }
For Gallery you have to adjust the css or best try using plugins.
Post on the slider cannot be taken to the page. That is featured post slider and it will only redirect to post. But you can further redirect post to page with redirection plugin

nehParticipantI would like to keep the main page exactly how it is now.
In addition I would like when I create posts that they show up only on the Blog page.
Similar to the site, http://www.podecos.co.uk/
Except instead of featured content on the main page I want to keep my image slider… and then have my blog like they have on the “news” page.April 5, 2013 at 12:22 am #6453In reply to: Featured Image Not Showing
SakinKeymaster@rsolosky: Featured Image are used in Catch Box theme for featured post slider and when you are set the blog to “Show excerpt” in Content Layout from “Appearance => Theme Options”. It will not show in “Show full content” mode.
April 4, 2013 at 11:04 pm #6436In reply to: Removing text area from slider
SakinKeymaster@takac.agent: If you are using Catch Everest theme, then add the following CSS in “Custom CSS” box in Theme Options panel to hide the Featured Post Slider excerpt.
#main-slider .entry-content { display: none; }
April 4, 2013 at 10:53 pm #6433In reply to: Change Slider Image and Text
SakinKeymaster@ambassador1103: Catch Everest uses the Featured Post Slider which mean it will take the title, excerpt and featured image from post.
I have cleared the question in this support thread. See this http://catchthemes.com/support-forum/topic/featured-post-slider-not-showing-up/
