    hi

i would like to link to the same page from 2 different menus.
the first menu has pages with cities then places to visit as a submenu.

eg sapporo -> places to visit.

now i have created a top menu with “sightseeing”.
i want to be able to create a menu item with just sapporo. when the user clicks on the menu item it should jump to places to visit (for sapporo)

i created a page with the title sapporo under the sightseeing menu.
then left the page blank and put a

    Sapporo

as the title. this worked to create a menu item with a link to the places to visit sapporo page BUT it also creates a sort of blank menu area just above the sapporo link. if you click this you get sent to the blank sapporo page.

could you give me any advice on how to create a menu item that links to a preexisting page. i dont want to create two of the same page if possible, although this would be easy i guess.

my test site is at garethrawlins.com.

    thank you for any help!
    regards

ps – also im not a programmer i know a little about html though.

    hi mahesh

i made “pages”. the menus at the top show up automatically after i have made a “page”.

first menu i made the cities top page, then made sapporo subpage, then places to visit of sapporo subpage.

then i made a “sightseeing” top page. under sightseeing i made a page sapporo.
in the sapporo title i placed the above link hoping it would create a menu item that when selected would jump directly to the cities -> sapporo -> places to visit page.

this works but it also creates the “double link” thing. i want to make a “sightseeing” menu with submenus that jump to the cities – places to visit pages.

sorry i dont quite understand what you said, to fix this problem.
could you explain to me a little more how to fix?

    thanks

@rawikltd: After adding Sightseeing, add place to visit page of Sapporo page under Sightseeing and change its label to Sapporo and it will work.
Please the visit the link below, for more details.

i understand what you are saying in the secnd part but if i do this i have 2 different pages. i was hoping i could make a separate menu that would link to the sapporo places to visit page without having to create a new page.

also there is a mistake in my thread title should read link to the Same page from two different top menu items.

do you understand? i want to link to the same page but have those links on two different menus.

@rawikltd: Yes I do understand. And you do not need to create a separate page. This can be done in two ways:
    1. Adding the page item again in the menu.
    2. Using custom link.

Adding page item again: This is the one I’ve explained in above.

Using custom link: In menu page select custom links and put the url of places to visit then put Sapporo in the link text and click add to menu.
Let me know if any problem.

    thanks again mahesh,

sorry im not so good at this.

i dont really understand what to do for number one – 1) adding the page item again in the menu. if i do this the page appears under the sightseeing link but not under the cities -> sapporo link. i want the page to be accessible from BOTH menus.
so would be as diagram below. is this possible?

    CITY Sightseeing
    – Sapporo – Sapporo
    — Places to visit /
    \ /
    \ /
    Page

i tried creating a custom menu but if i do all the other default / native menus disappear?? and only the custom menu appears. also it appears on the far right??
any idea what im doing wrong?

again i hope you understand my explanations.

    thanks for your help.

@rawikltd: I checked your site, you are using Page menu, you’ll need to create a menu and them add items into it and customize. For now I have created a menu Primary menu as for an example and put some menu items there. You have a lot menu items, so I didn’t put all of them, but some.. just to show you how to do it.
However, you site is live, I have put back the original menu item back again. But you can use that primary menu to check instead. Go to Dashboard=> Appearance=> Customize=> Menus=> Menu Location and select Primary in in Primary English Menu.
Check to see how it works and you can add further menu items there. (Through Dashboard=> Appearance=> Menus).
Let me know if any problem.
