ok, that’s a bit better. only thing is now the main menu is out of sync with the social menu and search button. how can I make that change affect those two also?
Alternatively, is there another way to make the box around “support us” smaller without affecting the whole main menu?
thanks
TB
the brinkParticipantHi Skandha,
Nope I’m afraid the issue is not resolved. As you can see here, the lower box “support us” shows an underline which I don’t want to be there. I assume that the underline is only not visible in the “email” box because it is black.
My most urgent request is to make the underline disappear under the support us in the orange box.
Also I would like to make both the boxes (and the other “email” boxes here and here) respond to hovering by having the lettering change colour (same as in the case of the website title).
thanks for your help
TB
the brinkParticipantOops, it seems to be working fine for me now. not sure what went on there, sorry about that.
I was wondering if you could take a look at this thread as you were able to help me with a very similar issue with the title?
thanks a lot
TB
the brinkParticipantGreat that’s worked well. Only thing is I’d like the background colour to cover less area, i.e. only highlight the word rather than filling the whole menu button. How can I do that?
the brinkParticipantOk, No worries. Thanks
the brinkParticipantHi Skandha,
That didn’t work either. Social menu still isn’t visible under main menu button on tablet view.
Thanks
TB
the brinkParticipanthere’s a link to a full copy of my css file
the brinkParticipantHow should I do that? To be honest I’d prefer to make the changes myself so I understand what I’m doing
the brinkParticipantGreat that has worked! Thanks.
What about my other question? Is there a way of forcing the main menu down to the second line along with the social menu and search button when they move?
Thanks a million
TB
the brinkParticipantHi,
That’s definitely an improvement. The social menu now stays visible until both disappear.
The only thing is, once they both disappear the social menu does not reappear under the main menu but under the search button. Until we go to phone view that is when they all are available under the one menu symbol.
Maybe I’m just being pernickety now but I would like the social menu to be always visible under the main menu button when it is not immediately visible.
Is there a way to do that?
Cheers

the brinkParticipantHi Sapana,
So I’ve replaced that code as suggested, but all it has done is stopped the boxes from extending off the page. Instead, their width gets smaller and smaller until the text is illegible.
Any other ideas as to how to get the boxes to align top to bottom when the screen gets smaller?
Bear in mind that I have kept all the code that I shared in my first post only changing the lines that you suggested. There’s ceratainly some of those lines of code that could be deleted.
Thanks
TB
the brinkParticipantHi,
I’ve just spotted a problem with the code you’ve given me:
It’s done something funny to the menu in phone view. When I click on the menu in phone view now the search button + social menu are wider than the main menu above them.
Is there something else we can do? maybe a bit of code to make dropdowns align with the left hand side of their parent element? or maybe just for the about dropdown?
cheers
the brinkParticipantHi,
I’ve got some familiarity with css. I’m just wondering where I can find reference those terms which point to the element in question so I can apply the same logic myself to other elements. I couldn’t find them using the “inspector” tool.
I have made some new highlighted elements now using the plugin “shortcodes ultimate”, but I would like to behave like the title on hover (i.e. they shouldn’t be underlined when I apply a “href” value to them, instead the lettering should change colour)
element in question are for example the two boxes below the text on this page.
thanks!
the brinkParticipantGreat. That worked fine.
Only thing is that now pushes the social menu and the search button down to the second line even on my large sreen view.
Is there a way of forcing the main menu down to the second line along with the social menu and search button when they move?
Thanks
I have another issue with the menu but as I have been asked before by your colleagues to create a new thread for seperate problems, that’s what I’ll do.
the brinkParticipantNice. I was there for a few weeks around the time of the colours festival a few years ago. A really lovely place.
the brinkParticipantGreat, that worked perfectly. Thank you.
TB
the brinkParticipantah great. thanks for that.
the brinkParticipantok… so we are basically 12 hours appart as we are in Columbia, 6 hours behind GMT I think!
Are you in India then? Bangalore I’m guessing?
the brinkParticipantHi Skandha,
I have resolved this issue by changing the thumnail settings in Settings>media settings, I then uploaded the images at exactle the size I wanted them (changing just the aspect ratio didn’t work). So all is working great now.
Thankyou for your help!
the brinkParticipantNo worries Skandha, any chance you could look at this thread for me?
