Mahesh,
This seemed to help adjust to my preferences. Thanks very much for your help!
Best,
Stephanie
sbartschParticipantHi Mahesh,
This does seem to reduce the space a little more. Thank you! Not to be too picky – but is there a way to make it a little bit smaller? (I see the margin is at 0″ – so perhaps that’s the least space it can be?) Let me know.————————
One other question, can the space (line height/leading) in h1 and h2 that runs into a second line be decreased?? For example on this page: https://studyabroad.wp.d.umn.edu/get-started/myths/
Example: h2 in second paragraph: “I’m not studying a foreign language, so studying abroad is useless.”
When header sentences break into to two lines, I’m wondering if the space between the two lines can be decreased. (i.e. I’d like when the space between “I’m not studying a foreign language” and “so studying abroad is useless” breaks into two lines to be a little smaller.)
Let me know if I’m being clear, or if you understand what I’m trying to describe!
Many thanks for your help!

(picky graphic designer / typography geek.)sbartschParticipantHello,
I have a question in regards to this as well. How can I decrease the space between (e.g. heading 1 and heading 2) with the body copy. For example on this page: https://studyabroad.wp.d.umn.edu/about/I’d like the header “Our Mission” to be closer to the first line of the paragraph sentence starting with “The UMD Study Abroad office is the…”
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
S. BartschsbartschParticipantHello,
I was able to troubleshoot a fix, please disregard note #82816. It turns out I needed to go into the theme customization and -re-select/re-define the primary menu as the one I created. I’m not sure why it does that, but re-selecting the correct menu fixed the issue.
Thanks,Stephanie
sbartschParticipantHello,
After experimenting with this, there seems to be a glitch.
If I add the total pages I want in the menu; then save it– it breaks the nav on the homepage (even after previously assigning which navigation menu I want).
BUT I noticed that, after adding the total pages in the ‘Menus’ page, then saving it and THEN going to the Customize page… my previously assigned menu structure was no longer there.
After REASSIGNING the correct navigation menu again in the Appearance > Customize > Navigation… it worked again.
I guess that’s a workaround (and I seem to be able to have the total amount of pages I would like…) But I’m wondering if this is how you intend it to work.
Any info at your convenience would be great.
Thanks!S Bartsch
sbartschParticipantThanks for this post! This just happened to me as well. I reassigned the menus in the Appearance > Customize > Navigation to have them work properly again.

sbartschParticipantHi Sakin,
Thank you very much for looking into this.
I’ve added the above mentioned code to the CSS – and it looks pretty good.
I appreciate it.Best,

sbartschParticipantHi Sakin,
I included this temporary fix. It seems to work great. http://www.d.umn.edu/ieo.I’m wondering the header text under the “featured images” can be slightly smaller? It looks fine in FireFox, but bigger in Chrome? (i.e. “Embark on your journey” breaks into 2 lines in Chrome, but is 1 line in other browsers.)
Please let me know your thoughts, and thanks again for your help!
sbartsch
sbartschParticipantDear Sakin & @sryu,
I appreciate your troubleshooting this issue. Hopefully Chrome will fix the issue soon. Do you think I should wait for Chrome to fix it? Or should I change the css per @syru’s suggestion?
Again, thanks for your help! I’m not terribly concerned ~ since it doesn’t appear that way on my co-worker’s computer, but I do want to have it fixed…
Best,
sbartsch
sbartschParticipantHi Sakin,
I apologize for not responding sooner ~ I’ve been busy.
Here is the screenshot:https://ieo.wp.d.umn.edu/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/chrome-ieo-home.jpg
url: https://ieo.wp.d.umn.edu/
I did look on a co-worker’s chrome screen, and it appears fine there. Though I’ve checked that my screen is zoomed out -and at “actual size” but it still displays this way. Let me know if you know of anything else I should try in Chrome?
Thanks again for your assistance.Best,
SbartschsbartschParticipantDear Sakin,
Thanks for your quick response. I’ve refreshed my Chrome browser, and deleted history, cookies etc. I also double checked that my page zoom is at actual size in Chrome > View > Actual Size
Is it possible for me to send you a screen grab? It’s as if there is a white bar to the right and left side of the slider image on the home page.
Please let me know your thoughts when you have a moment.
Many thanks!Best,
S. BartschsbartschParticipantAhh.
Yes.
Thank you!sbartschParticipantSo I’ve done what you said (yesterday) – and titled the new page “News & Updates”
but when I was reviewing it yesterday, it was blank. But when I look now: https://ieo.wp.d.umn.edu/about/news-updates/ it seems to show some of the posts. But it doesn’t seem to be showing all of the posts. Do I need to change something with the categories? Or what default posts will automatically pull into that page? For example my most recent post: https://ieo.wp.d.umn.edu/2014/03/14/2473/ doesn’t seem to show on the page?
Thoughts?
Thanks again!sbartschParticipantDear Sakin,
Sorry for the confusion!
Right now, we have our homepage set to a static page (Text “Lifetime experience awaits…)But if I want to have a separate page (maybe even menu/navigation item that is titled “our blog”or “News & Updates”) how can I create a page so it is a running list of our blog posts (so that it could be a menu item/page?)
Let me know if that helps clarify what I’m trying to say.
Many thanks!sbartsch
sbartschParticipantHi Sakin,
Thanks for the details. I have now created and designated a “Posts page” (I titled it “news & updates.” But how do I get posts to appear on that “News & Updates” posts page?
Prior to this, I have been creating posts separately – and only using them to connect with the “Featured Post Slider.”
Is there a way to get all my posts to appear on the “News and Updates” page? Or how does that function? – I guess, how does the News and Updates page pull in the posts I publish?
Any info would be greatly appreciated whenever you have a moment.
Thanks!!!Kind regards,
SBARTSCH
sbartschParticipantMost excellent. Many thanks!
sbartschParticipantThank you! I just wanted to be sure. I work at a University, and I didn’t want the whole site to come down.
Thanks for your help and timely responses, I greatly appreciate it. I really like the simple, clean design of the Catch Everest theme.
Best regards
sbartschParticipantHi Sakin,
Thanks for the quick response!I have made the following changes in Appearance> Theme Options > Theme Options:
• a custom logo
• favicon
• recently just changed the header, with the CSS you just provided me.Will those items be changed, or need to be redone?
2) Will anything from the Appearance > Theme Options > Homepage settings; > Featured post slider, > Social LInks or > webmaster tools be changed?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,SBARTSCH
