We noted one of the multi sites received a warning about reached a max on their menu items. Perhaps this has impacted the other site on the MS network.

“One thing I remembered this morning was that a few days ago, when I was looking at the Dashboard, there was button that said something like “New: Edit in WordPress”. I thought I WAS editing in WordPress. I don’t usually click on any of the many buttons asking me to update anything or use any plug in because I’m such a novice, but I thought that I check out what it looked like to edit in the new WordPress version. I clicked, and nothing looked different. So I went on about my business.
I’m not exactly sure when that was. It was sometime last week. I honestly didn’t notice the menus missing until yesterday, which is when I also noticed the categories and tags missing from all the blog posts.
I wish I could remember exactly what that “Edit in WordPress” button said. I certainly didn’t think it would change the website. Does that offer any clue? Maybe it’s unrelated, but I thought it might help to bring it up.”

No changes with any additions, removals, or updates I am aware of. Problem continued with switching out multiple themes including other Catch Themes and WP 2015, 2016 themes. We temorarily changed “plugins” folder name in WP-Content and problem continued.
dbevarlyParticipantI want to work on this site and show to a couple of people. I want to have a “coming soon” page like this one: http://mylegalowl.com/?page_id=5 but without the menu to prevent visitors going through the site as I work on it. I have a team spread out that needs to be able to work on this and want them to see the menu and navigation. Can I remove the menu from just one page? Thanks, Dan
dbevarlyParticipantNever mind – I found a reference in the forum. Sakin – One of the sites in the multi-sites (http://ohiocog.nfoic.net/) cannot get rid of the colon (:) on his slider images. I know this is to preview the description after the image title, but if there is not description, why does it display the colon sign? Thanks.
dbevarlyParticipantThank you Sakin. I appreciate your (always) prompt responses.
dbevarlyParticipantI also deleted the menu, so why is it still showing?
dbevarlyParticipantSakin – Is there any way I can remove the menu on one page as I work on the site? I want to have the single page/placeholder, but it is including the parent pages that are published.
I don’t understand why I show the menu bar. I have not added or created a menu in the admin. Thanks, Dan
dbevarlyParticipantSakin – I just saw that the page layouts can be determined for each individual page in the admin for the page –these are set to “no sidebar” so I guess they override their counterpart in the theme options.
Do you have any “pro” versions that do allow you to change a header on one of the pages. I want to do this for my blog. Thanks.
dbevarlyParticipantSakin – Thank you for the quick response.
1. I had the image link in the “link” field but not in the “image” field. Now the images all have vertical lines through them. I left the link in the link field and when I click on “Continue” to view them as standalone images, they appear w/o the lines. Both images are 976 x 313 so why the distortion in the slider, but not when you view it in the link?
2. I thought, “Damn! My stupidity” on the layout. But I checked again and sure enough I DO/DID have “Right Sidebar” layout checked. I even reset it and it still does not show the widgets. Which site did you check? http://www.bevarly.com? So this is still a mystery.
3. Thanks on the header response. Dan
dbevarlyParticipantSakin – this was a simple redirect and not a transfer. A few things got fouled up. For example, when we set up the parent to accept the redirect, we had the wrong URL listed in the Domain Mapping setting, however we corrected that. They were told to switch the DNS servers, which they did (and that was not needed they found and switched them back). We redirected another site from GoDaddy a few months ago without any problems, but this one is causing a lot of issues.
In the dashboard, the widgets still show they are in the main sidebar. They aren’t showing up on the public side. Should we remove these and reinstall them? Plus, the whole site is taking an extremely long time to load and navigate. Ideas? Thank you, Dan
dbevarlyParticipantYes. I see those other options. We’ll give it a try. Thank you for suggesting the options.
dbevarlyParticipantSakim – Yeah. That is what I thought and have suggested to the client. I was hoping there was an option to size the slider layout instead of just “normal” or “full.” (you might want to think about adding that feature). Anyway, thank you for the prompt response (that I’ve become to associate with you). It is very much appreciated. Dan
dbevarlyParticipantSakin – I did not clarify that the site I want to transition to the new theme is an external site (http://www.miopengov.org) from the current WP multi-site network.
dbevarlyParticipantGreat. Thank you Sakin for the prompt response. db
dbevarlyParticipantLooking for recommendation:
Can I use the WP export/import feature or a plug-in to copy/paste web content from an existing WP site using a basic response theme and export it to the Catch Box public theme? Then, after tweaks, upgrade to the pro version?
What would you recommend about how to proceed? Or should we just be cutting and pasting existing web page content into the new CT theme? Thank you.
dbevarlyParticipantIn my case, when I unzipped the file, a folder was created for that theme that i would ftp into my WP “themes” folder. However, before unzipping the file, I had created another folder as a destination for the unzipped files, not knowing that theme folder would be created. So I ended uploading the folder I created that included the other folder and files. (Following me on this?). That was causing some screwy viewing when I activated it. I was unable to “live preview.”
I deleted the themes from WP and went back to the folders I created and found the appropriate folder for the theme that came with the unzipping. I uploaded that and it worked fine.
dbevarlyParticipantPlease disregard my earlier post. User error (of course). I had created folders that I used to download and unzip the themes and ftp’d that folder + theme folder and that caused the error. Using just the theme name folder from unzipping the file worked. Never mind.
dbevarlyParticipantI had used a the Catch Box free version on a multi site. We then purchased five themes including Catch Box Pro. But the live preview doesn’t show anything on sites already build in another theme and on the newly created sites that do not have a theme yet, the preview shows up with horizontal text just branched down the page. Also, the “theme options” all scroll vertical on the page instead of horizontal on the Catch Box free version. I noted in the “Manual Installation using FTP”, Item #3:
3. Using an FTP client to access your host web server. Go to /wp-content/themes/ and make sure that you do not already have a catch-box-pro folder installed. If you do, then back it up and remove it from /wp-content/themes/ before uploading your copy of Catch Box Pro Upload Catch Box Pro to /wp-content/themes/’I did not back/up or remove anything from /themes. Could the earlier upload of Catch Box and not removing the folder be my problem?
