MemberHi,
I’ve installed Catch Evolution Pro version 1.6.1 on WordPress 3.83I’m going to update the theme to version 2.0 using FTP following the update instrucions:
Manual Update using FTP: Now unzip the theme file catch-evolution-pro.2.0.zip and use your FTP client to access your host web server. Go to /wp-content/themes/ and upload the extracted folder catch-evolution-proThe question is: all the settings and the customizations that I made via the “Theme Options” panel (header options, header image, logo image, custom css rules) will remain active or I or risk to lose something?

MemberSakin,
thanks for answering so fast.The new header image (ex-buddha) that i have loaded will remain active in all the pages of the website or there is a new setting to specify this behaviour?
No CSS style is changed from 1.6.1?
The rules I create for the old CSS selectors remains valid?April 16, 2014 at 11:50 pm #25959Sakin
Keymaster@Stefano: Did you check in the theme instruction of Catch Evolution Pro theme at http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/catch-evolution-pro/
You can change the Header Image from “Appearance => Header”. Further you have more options from “Appearance => Theme Options => Header Featured Image Options”

MemberThanks again Sakim.
The most important thing that I want to be sure is this: I have done a lot of customizations to the theme inserting new CSS rules in the “Appearance> Theme Options> Custom CSS” panel.
These customizations are mainly:
– new background images for body, header and various containers
– various margins, padding, bordersDo I risk of losing them updating the theme?

Keymaster@Stefano: Yes, all the customization made from Options Panel are 100% safe.
If you are having difficulty in updating from FTP then you can use the plugin Catch Updater and update directly from “Appearance => Themes => Add New”

ParticipantHi,
I bought the Catch Evolution Pro-theme. Very nice theme, thanks. 🙂 I’ve now made modifications through Appearance >> theme options and also Custom CSS. Planning to make further modifications to the code also, because of that I’ve made a Child theme (catch-evolution-pro_SAPA-folder and into that style.css):
/*
Theme Name: catch-evolution-pro_SAPA
Theme URI: http://sapa.fi/SAPA_WP/wp-content/themes/catch-evolution-pro_SAPA/
Description: SAPA Helsinki 1970 catch-evolution-theme
Author: Catch Themes Team
Author URI: http://catchthemes.com
Template: catch-evolution-pro
Version: 1.0.0
Tags: dark, light, blue, green, white, black, gray, one-column, two-columns, left-sidebar, right-sidebar, fixed-width, flexible-width, custom-background, custom-colors, custom-header, custom-menu, editor-style, featured-image-header, featured-images, full-width-template, microformats, post-formats, rtl-language-support, sticky-post, theme-options, translation-ready, threaded-comments, flexible-header, three-colum
Text Domain: catch-evolution-pro_SAPA
*/@import url(“http://sapa.fi/SAPA_WP/wp-content/themes/catch-evolution-pro/style.css”);
/* =Theme customization starts here
————————————————————– /*Now I’ve made my first theme update from version 1.6. to 2.1., but everything didn’t go so smoothly. All my widgets and sidebars were removed from their right widget sidebars. You can still find the removed widgets Appearance >> Widget “not used widgets”-field.
What went wrong in the update? Did I do something wrong?
I followed the instructions:
Updating Theme Using FTP
To update Theme though FTP, follow these basic steps:1.Download the latest version of Catch Evolution Pro from your Catch Themes member a href=”http://catchthemes.com/my-account/” title=”My Account” target=”_blank”>My-Account to your Desktop
2.Unzip catch-evolution-pro.zip to your Desktop
3.Using an FTP client to access your host web server, go to /wp-content/themes/ and upload your new copy of Catch Evolution Pro Theme which shall replace the old files
I’m developing my first ever WordPress website. My website:
http://sapa.fi/SAPA_WP/I did a backup before the 2.1. update installation with “Online Backup for WordPress”-plugin.

ParticipantWhere do I go to find the theme update for Catch Evolution Pro? I log into my account, but see nothing indicating the new update. I purchased the theme back in Nov. 2013. Where should I be looking to find the theme update?
