    I received an email from SiteLock today informing they’d detected potential malware, though that determination is based on some not-yet verified Google info. SiteLock’s free service is provided courtesy of Hostgator so it’s not a service I sought out and, after doing some research, am wary about. I use the free version of Wordfence on my sight and it has issued no warnings.

    One example of the suspicious code SiteLock is flagging is:
    window.popuplink_cfg_field=”wp_cfg_index”;window.wp

    Since I’m using an unmodified theme, I assume any useing the Catch Evolution Pro theme is also infected. Any advice about this or suggestions for fixing? While I’m not opposed to cleaning the malware, if that’s what it is, I doubt I would use SiteLock and I don’t want to do anything to damage the code.

    @renegadeimage: Please post in your site URL so that I can check out your site. This maybe due to the plugins you are using.

    Kind Regards,

    @skandha,

    My main page is https://keith-skinner.com and one of the posts listed in SiteLock’s report is https://keith-skinner.com/lumber-schooners-of-the-redwood-coast/.

    The reason I’m suspicious about this is because I keep my code base up to date and I’m running, among other things, the free version of Wordfence, which has reported no problems. And it sounds like a lot of people are have had terrible experiences with SiteLock.

    Thanks

    @renegadeimage: This is not a theme related issue as our theme does not use wp_cfg_index. This may be coming from one of the plugins you are using.

    Kind Regards,
    Skandha
