    Is there a plug in that you can add that will allow you to open a photo in a gallery into a new window so that you can add other pictures and text regarding that photo?

    @Joz: For this you can either you links in your images. For plugin we are not sure which is best. You can search for plugin at http://wordpress.org/plugins
