Hi,
when I share my Homepage on Facebook something strange happens in Simple Catch Pro.
The picture that´s automatically shown seems to be my very first blogpost picture. Even though it isn´t on the “home” page and even though I deleted everything from the website and media gallery related to that blogpost. It still shows up when I share the home page on FB. Does it take a while to be deleted completely?
I want to choose the best possible picture when someone shares my home page.
How can I do that? How can I determine a default picture for social media sharing? When they share one of my blogposts usually the blogpost picture shows up on facebook, which is what I want. But what about the “home” page or other pages…
And another question: What is the “Web clip icon” in Theme Options? Is that the default picture that is shared on social media platforms?
Thanks for your help!

1. For Facebook share images for homepage, you can install “WordPress SEO by Yoast” plugin and then setup image from “SEO => Social”. Then you can test your open graph images from https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/
2. Web Clip Icon is the Icon used for Apple devices when they save your site.November 29, 2014 at 8:42 pm #48253SalomeMemberThe problem is more that the picture from my first blog post still shows up on facebook even though the post itself and the picture were deleted days ago. The picture is not even on the website or in my gallery/dashboard anymore but it still shows up. It still must be saved somewhere and the deletion didn´t seem to work properly.
How can that be possible? Is that a bug in Simple Catch Pro?
There also must be some kind of general rule or mechanism in Simple Catch Pro which picture is chosen when you share a page or a post.
It works for the blog posts: The chosen blog post image is shared on Facebook. But where can I find the rule/mechanism for the home, contact and other sites?
I don´t want to install a plugin for every little problem that should be easy to solve without a plugin.
Thanks for your help and support!

I also gave you link to test your open graph https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/. It is working fine in your blog post as it see the featured image and take the featured image as the open graph image. But your homepage, list all the latest post. So, it takes the first featured image.
WordPress SEO by Yoast is the best plugin to handle this and it also improves your site Search Engine Optimization.
