Using Catch Everest (free version at the moment) I’ve found the responsive mobile drop-down menu tends to revert to the menu item at bottom of list, so eg. on my site I select ‘Literature’ (3rd on my menu) then when page loads the menu displays ‘Contact’ (last on my list). Is this a glitch or have I done something wrong?

    My site is: olleydesign.com

    Password: bog

I am using Chrome on a Mac.

@oly: I see that you have use another plugin “JQuery Accordion Menu Widget” I think it is conflicting with this.

This sounds like the same bug we discussed, Sakin…. My last item is shows on non-menu pages. Also, for all subpages, they display with the dash. So, for example, my Contact page under About shows as “-Contact”. It should just be “Contact”. These two items are rather highly visible design issues on the mobile responsive site, so it would be great to see a release with a fix soon. 🙂 Thanks!. http://www.onedivinenation.org

@jocatman: For Catch Everest Pro theme, you can just update the theme to latest Version 1.2 and it will be fixed.

Thanks, I’ve downloaded the V1.2 file, but when I try to upload, I get a failure error because the folder already exists. I read your FAQ on upgrading, but it does not help.

It is also not clear what I am going to have to redo when I upgrade. I have not changed any code under the hood, just some Custom CSS. Will I need to completely set up all my settings through “Theme Options” again?

@jocatman: Looks like you are trying to upload through Admin panel in WordPress.

You can just activate the “Catch Everest Free” Theme and then delete the current Catch Everest Pro version. Then upload the new version as the new theme installation.

I upgraded, but now things are worse. There is a Menu button on my primary navigation which displays everywhere at every resolution and which I do not want and I cannot seem to turn off. Also, for all subpages, they still display with the dash. Again, my Contact page under About shows as “-Contact”. It should just be “Contact”.

@jocatman: Your theme is not updated. I checked your style.css and it still show version 1.1.1 where your site is supposed to be version 1.2 that is why it is showing menu.

About the – . All the submenu will be displayed as – to show it is child menu. if further submenu then it will be — and goes on.

    Please update all files.

I can tell you I deleted V1.1.1 after applying the Free theme; I then loaded V1.2 and applied that.

I think that may have been a cache issue, as the Menu button no longer displays for either browser at higher resolution; however, it still shows up on the collapsed menu at lower resolutions.

I understand about displaying the “-” in the Menu, but it should not appear as the page title on the actual web page. I know a little here, I have been in Web UI design for 15 years. I’m not a developer, but the Page Title should never include a “-“. It’s not a critical issue, but would like to see it removed from the Page Title in a future release, please.

    Thanks.

@jocatman: Yes I understand your concern. But it’s the trend in the WordPress that I am following. Then how do you separate the Submenu pages.

Now you site http://www.olleydesign.com/ doesn’t have submenu so it doesn’t have –

I’m not we’re on the same page. Is there a way to send you a screenshot?

What I am suggesting is that when a Subpage displays in a Menu, it includes “-Contact”. However, when you are actually on the page at low resolution (smartphone resolution), that same label displays in the gray bar as the Page Title.

There are two different pieces of logic needed here:

    1) If subpage title is listed in Menu, then add “-“.
    2) If subpage title is display in gray bar as Page Title, then DO NOT ADD “-” OR If screen resolution = smartphone, then do not display subpage title in gray bar

Technically, since we already display the page title at the top of the page, it really should be the second logic and not display. Not sure why it is even doing so. Again, if I could send a screenshot, I would.

@jocatman: You can upload the screenshot in your site and post the link here.

As shown, this is just a duplicate label on every page at this resolution; it is redundant to the user to see the label twice on the page. If it must be there, it should not have the “-“, since that has no context with any other menu hierarchy.
