Hi,

we recently updated to Full Frame Pro 3.7.2 and WordPress 4.6.1

Our page is https://www.aquariumcomputer.com, this is a network installation for an English and a german website.

These are the problems:

– appearance->customize doesn’t work anymore on the German website (https://www.aquariumcomputer.com/de/), only the customization bar on the left is shown, no preview on the right and no settings can be changed. But the customization still works on the English Website.

– occasionally some web pages are not shown although they worked perfect before the updates – after some while and many refreshes the page is shown suddenly, this can take minutes to hours – this also never happened before the update and the English website never shows this behaviour

@matthias: I checked the theme on our server (theme version 3.7.2 and WordPress 4.6.1) in both english and german and it worked fine on both. Please try reinstalling the theme. If you do have any plugins installed please try disabling it and try if it solves the problem.

Hi, although I just updated to 3.7.2 yesterday morning I did it again, but it changed nothing.

I already deactivated (and even deinstalled) many plugins, but I can’t do this for all, otherwise the site will not work anymore at all.

But I doubt it has to do with the plugins – they had not been changed (updated) in the past.

I don’t now what you mean with “in both english and german and it worked fine on both”. I have not a problem with the English or German version of your theme, English and German in this case just refers to our different web pages.

Maybe more clear:
– we have 2 websites, a German version: https://www.aquariumcomputer.com/de/
and a English version: https://www.aquariumcomputer.com/
they are in a WP network installation, so also the them is installed network wide

– the English version is displayed correctly and we are able to customize the theme there

– the German version is displayed most times correctly, occasionally some pages are not loaded, and even worse. the theme customization is not possible anymore (see my first post)

do you want admin access to our site so you can see with your own eyes what I am talking about?

@matthias: I checked your site. And it seem a bit strange. All your network sites are working fine except https://www.aquariumcomputer.com/de/ one. Customizer is not working on this one. But I checked the first one https://www.aquariumcomputer.com/start/ and the customizer worked on this. The site is completely in German and customizer is still working.
The problem might be because of incomplete translation. But since it worked on one of your sites. Its a bit ambiguous.
Have you tried changing themes (like core WordPress themes)? Did it work?

Yes, this is exactly the problem – the customizer works for all other sites, but not for the /de.

I didn’t change a theme in the last 12 months (except the update to you latest 3.7.2), and to be honest I am quite reluctant to do this just for test purposes, this can easily ruin the entire website and produce a desaster and it will take weeks to get it all up and running again.

I don’t know what you mean by “incomplete translation”. I use WP always and only in English for administration, so an incomplete translation in your theme (if there a German parts) should not have any affects.

But now it comes:
For testing purposes I changed the site language to German and then back to English – now the theme customizer works again!

I really have no idea what is going on here.

OK, I think I found out what is happening.
After playing with the language setigs it turned out that
– the Admin language doesn’t matter
but
– the blog language makes the trouble: blog language German: customization doesn’t work, when English it works

since I need to set the blog language correctly I need a fix for that

@matthias: Can you please clarify more, I don’t quite get it what you mean by blog language.
