I successfully hid my “Blog Subscribe” widget from the static home page as I decided I want it to ONLY show on the actual Blog page right sidebar. I went into the Appearance, Widgets, Manage in Customizer, Main Sidebar, Blog Subscriptions and Visibility, where I enabled “Show If PAGE is BLOG” but now the SUBSCRIBE does NOT show up on my BLOG PAGE sidebar (or anywhere else, which is the good news, I suppose). I am wondering if this is a contradiction with a JetPack Plugin as it is a JetPack Blog Subscribe function. Any advice on getting the widget to show up where I want it? The same thing happened when I attempted to hide several other widgets on the home page, but instructed them to be VISIBLE elsewhere. Not happening. http://www.JanDeelstra.com

Also, (and I apologize for throwing 2 different issues at you under one heading, but can you tell me how to center a video on a full-width page? I tried inserting <p style=”text-align: center;”> but the video still hangs to the left margin.

@Jan Deelstra: I don’t know what are you doing with the widget. Go to “Appearance => Widgets” and then manage your widget.

About the video, which video are you talking about.

As for the widgets, I know how to go to widgets and manage them. But when I use the “Manage in Customizer” the BLOG SUBSCRIBE doesn’t show up. Nor do several others that I have attempted to use the “Customizer” for. When I utiize the “Visibility” function and direct a widget to ONLY be visible on the BLOG page as example, it does not appear on that BLOG page. Maybe it’s a conflict with a plugin.

Listen, it’s all good, Sakin. I’ll just have the pesky little widgets show up on all the pages. It’s not worth any stress. I just won’t use the “Manage in Customizer” function. And as for the video not being centered, that too is not worth investing a lot of effort in. I’ll let it be where it wants to be.

@Jan Deelstra: I think plugin conflict from Customizer. So, I suggest you to manage the widget from the Widget area then from Customizer. Maybe that plugin is search for Blog Page. Can you create the page Name “Blog” and test it.

There is definitely something off. In the visibility settings, when I say “HIDE” if page is BLOG, the subscribe widget shows up. When I say “SHOW” if Page is BLOG or POST it disappears. It’s as if the settings are opposite of what they should be. That would all be fine if only I could figure out how to have the newsletter subscribe show on the HOME page and the blog subscribe show only on the BLOG or POST pages. But when I think it’s figured out, I save it and it falls apart again and both appear on all pages….
I wonder if I need to remove all plugins and see what happens and then add them in one at a time…. Oye vey. I really need to go back to school. ITT. 🙁

1. when you say “Hide” is page is Blog, then it will hide only in your blog page and will show in all other pages.
2. when you say “Show” if page is blog or post, it will show in your blog page and your article (post) page and will not show in other sections such as other pages, category and all.

No. That’s how it SHOULD work. But it’s not working that way. I am going to turn off ALL my plugins and start over. I’ll keep you posted. Thanks Sakin.
