How do I add a phone number and email address towards the top of the page by the logo?
July 24, 2013 at 10:25 pm #12317SakinKeymaster@Cherry: You can add that in Catch Everest Pro by adding in the widget in Header Top sidebar. There is not option in free theme. There is one trick, you can add the phone, email and logo in the same image.
July 26, 2013 at 5:31 am #12368CherryMemberThank you so much! You’re a lifesaver. I think I’m going to go ahead and upgrade to pro. I love this theme but I’m having some issues with the gallery. Are the pro gallery options upgraded as well?
July 26, 2013 at 4:57 pm #12383SakinKeymaster@Cherry: Thanks. Sorry I don’t understand what do you mean by issue with the gallery. Let me know in details. Also when you post any question, it will be easy for me if you post the site URL as well.
July 26, 2013 at 5:06 pm #12385CherryMemberSorry Sakin, for instance the link below goes to my gallery of desserts. When I click on the first picture and then click “next” it doesn’t flip through all the pictures on that page. It only shows a few pictures in that page. The same happens on my other pages with galleries on them.
http://www.wastedcupcakes.com/newsite/desserts/July 27, 2013 at 9:22 am #12409SakinKeymaster@Cherry: We are using WordPress default image functions. So, if you just upload the images from your Desserts post and insert the gallery shortcode
[gallery]
then it will display the image from that particular post. But if you create the gallery using images not uploaded from that post then it works that way.So, in your case either upload all the Desserts images from “Add Media” button of Desserts post. Or you can install the Jetpack plugin and activate “Carousel” module in Jetpack plugin settings.
July 27, 2013 at 11:03 am #12418CherryMemberThank you for your response. Where do I insert the gallery short code?
Let me see if I understand this, I have to create a POST and upload all of the images into that post, THEN create the gallery for my PAGE and only add to that gallery photos linked to that post? Am I right? Thanks again. One more question if you don’t mind, if I upgrade to Pro will I have to go through a process to transfer anything or will it just work instantly without having to transfer anything?
July 27, 2013 at 8:59 pm #12427SakinKeymaster@Cherry: You can just add the gallery shorcode in your content areas of post.
When you upgrade to pro version, you can just install it. No need to transfer anything.
July 27, 2013 at 10:41 pm #12433CherryMemberGreat, then I’ll upgrade today.
When you say post I’m a bit confused. All of my galleries are in pages not posts.July 27, 2013 at 11:44 pm #12436July 28, 2013 at 2:48 am #12444CherryMemberThank you so much for your help. I’m beginning to think it’s a glitch or a problem with the gallery plug in. This is what I’ve been doing, I made a cupcakes page then I clicked on add media and I added a gallery, I uploaded photos to my media library making sure they were attached to that gallery. It added them to the gallery and shows up when I click on the page but when I click on a particular photo and I click the next button it doesn’t click through all of the images on that page. It clicks through SOME of them and then even shows OTHER images that I didn’t attach to that page. I checked the code for that page and all the photo IDs are there.
July 28, 2013 at 8:35 am #12446SakinKeymaster@Cherry: I told you that you need to upload the image from that page and you don’t need to create gallery. After you upload the image from that particular page. You can just add the gallery shortcode
[gallery]
in your page. But if you create a Gallery using Media you can install Jetpack plugin and activate “Carousel” module in Jetpack plugin settings.
July 28, 2013 at 10:20 am #12447CherryMemberI heard jetpack plugin slows down the site. I uploaded a carousel without jet pack but I don’t like it. I tried to input the images on the page by clicking the “add media” button but I had to manually resize the images and they were positioned odd on the page. Was that what you were suggesting I do? Did I get it right?
July 28, 2013 at 1:00 pm #12453CherryMemberI just upgraded to catch pro, followed the instructions and my site looks different. My logo is gone, my slideshow on the homepage is of poor quality and all of my drop downs show on the page bar. The site was set to go before I upgraded and this needed to go live tonight. What can I do?
July 28, 2013 at 10:03 pm #12470SakinKeymaster@Cherry: I see that you still have Catch Everest Free theme and for the logo. I see that you have deleted the image http://www.wastedcupcakes.com/newsite/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/LOGOResize5ClickForHome.png that is why there in no image. Just upload the image from “Appearance => Header”.
I don’t get it what you mean by slideshow poor quality. Then quality of slider depends on the image you add in. There is nothing to do with pro for free one.
