Hello Sakin,
I’ve been using Simple Catch since long and the slider always worked pefectly. However, it’s been two days since it’s blocked: as you can see from my homepage, it shows only one post, although I set it for six. What can I do?

@dbentzen: Don’t have option to remove the slider from the post. But yes you can hide the slider in the post by adding the following CSS in “Appearance => Theme Options => Custom CSS” box.

1. Can I change the size of the slider so it becomes a left-hand slider next to text?
— for this you need to use featured image slider and then change the css. So, for this you need to use your developer. Only image slider in there in Catch Everest Pro.

2. I’m having trouble locating the slider below the header, and the main body content in between the slider and the featured articles.
— I don’t understand this. The slider cannot be moved without customizing the theme. The slider will be below the menu. But I see that in your site, you have 3 post in the slider but only 1 have featured image, that is why it is not displaying properly. 3. For some reason, all of the content for my pages gets replaced by the word “On”. Can you tell what’s causing that?
— This is the excerpt text from the post that you have added. You can change that content though the excerpt box or the excerpt text. See this http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/excerpts/

If you want to control the slide with easy then you need Image Slider where you can upload the image of your own choice size, then add title, content, links all optional.

I am not so clear about your questions.

The Mount Everest Image and the text with it is the Slider. You can change that by assigning Post ID in Featured Post Slider. For that

1. First create the Post and don’t forget to add in the Featured Image in the post as this image is used in the slider. To add featured image see this http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/#setting-a-featured-image

2. Then get the ID of the post. When you edit your post or write a post, you will see the id in your browser address bar. You will also be able to find the post ID when viewing your all posts. But if you cannot find it then you can use this plugin to view it http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/catch-ids/

3. Then go to “Appearance => Theme Options => Featured Post Slider”. Add in the post id.

@striderbl: I see that you have customize the footer. Please restore the footer.php file and it will be fine.

Also I see that you are using Free Simple Catch Theme and Remove Theme: Simple Catch. This is necessary for all free theme users. As this is also appreciation that you get for providing the free themes and free support. If you want to edit your footer text. then use simple catch pro theme where you have footer edit options.

I have a little problem with this slider and don’t know from where it comes.
When i set only one featuret post, it show’s ok, but when i want to put 2 or more slides i see an error and slide images didn’t change. Where is the problem? i cannot understand.

@peterbook: Yes only in pro version you have option to choose “featured image slider”. When you use featured image slider, you can upload any image and link to any link, all optional.

@amyfanton: About your question #2, regarding the height of the slider. You are using Featured Post Slider which automatically crop the large image into the size of Width: 1140px and Height: 450px . So, I mean if you change the the slider from Post Slider to image slider. Then you can upload the image of your own choice. About your question #1, you can change the gallery from plugin. try searching plugins in http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/

Thank you! I tried updating before asking the question and for some reason, the site ended up completely without formatting (I’ve updated with no trouble in the past). I haven’t bothered to try again yet… I’m sure it was something silly I did… your CSS solved my problem completely. Thanks.

@amyfanton: You need to install the theme in any demo site and show to then I can assist you better.

1. I would like to create an additional slider gallery on a page other than the home page (portfolio). Is this possible? Can someone please tell me how? I don’t want a gallery with multiple thumbnail images displayed at the same time (as it is now)
— You can show the same slider in whole site but you cannot have different slider in different pages.

2. How can I increase the height of the slider on the home page, and delete the three images & content that are below (the prayer wheels, mt. everest, mt kanchen)
— To change the height of the slider on the homepage. You can use “Featured Image” slider and then add the image of the height you want.
— To delete the three image and the content. That is called “Homepage Featured Content”. You can disable that from “Appearance => Theme Options => Homepage Settings => Homepage Featured Content Options”. Check “Disable Homepage Featured Content” and save it.

3. On another page (client galleries), I would like to create multiple galleries that each display only one photo, and are password protected for clients. Can someone please help me figure out how to do this?
— You can try installing plugins. Search for plugins that suits you best at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/

@CarlK3D: Yes you can have multiple. Set how many slides you want from “Appearance => Featured Slider => Slider Options”. There you will bee input box for Number of Slides. If you want to add 4 slides then just type 4 and save it. then you will get the Featured Col #1, Featured Col #2, Featured Col #3 and Featured Col #4. There you can add respective post ID.

Sorry the page slider is not there in Free Version. For that you need to upgrade to pro version. See this for more feature in Pro version http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/catch-box-pro/
