    Figured out that Homepage Top Sidebar is the location, remove the Recent Posts, Recent Comments Archives and Meta and  insert Text widget4 times.

    I am puzzled about how to put in the images above these items.

    Sakin – I am having the same issue. I have my homepage set as a static page and I’m using the featured post slider. However, the featured post slider is displaying on both my posts page and my static homepage. How do I remove it from my post page?

    @@richardcharlesandrews1: There is no breadcrumbs. You are using wrong terminology. When I check in your site. Your site structure is as below:
    1. Logo
    2. Primary Menu
    3. Featured Post Slider
    4. Left Sidebar you have various widgets
    5. Right Content – In Right content, you have page title, page image and page content.
    6. Footer

    Where is the breadcrumbs???

    @mogulbill: Yes to change the link color in Featured Post Slider box, just add the following css in your “Custom CSS” box in Theme Options panel.
    #slider-wrap a.more-link { color: #fff; }

    @heeralc: You are using featured post slider which means it will redirect to respective post. But if you don’t want that to redirect to respective post then you can use redirection plugin and adjust the link as per your need. To remove the link it’s not there in Catch Everest Free theme.

    I don’t understand your other 2 questions. Also can you post your site URL and explain bit more and then I will be able to help you.

    If you guys are find problem to find the post ID then you can install this plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/catch-ids/ or click here to watch this video to get the post ID without plugin.

    You need to add this post ID just as 1 not the name. For more details I think this video about our another free theme simple catch which also have similar post slider. See this video

    @fabianfiedler: Thanks for your compliment.

    For your your first question. It’s bit complicated logic. The Featured Slider needs to have large image but in the post we have small space and also we need to think about the site loading. That is why we auto crop the image. So, the best option will be to exclude the post in homepage for which you have added in slider. You can exclude post in slider from homepage through “Appearance => Theme Options => Featured Post Slider => Featured Post Slider Options”. Just check “Exclude Slider post from Homepage posts” and save it.

    For your second question about the caption. When you upload the image in your post just add in the caption. May be this tutorial will help you http://wpmu.org/how-to-add-a-caption-to-wordpress-images/

    @wendyw627: You don’t need to copy that code. That was only when there was not theme update. Now you can just update your theme to latest version http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/catch-everest and it will work fine.

    Hi, I’ve messed up the codes, and copy the entire code from the given page as above.

    http://themes.svn.wordpress.org/catch-everest/0.1.2.2/inc/catcheverest-functions.php

    But I am still getting the error message

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘:’ in D:\Hosting\10697012\html\wp-content\themes\catch-everest\inc\catcheverest-functions.php on line 913

    How do I fix this?

    Thank you!

    PS I don’t know what a Post IDs is is it the name of the post? Why is there an edit button and an entry field in this step. If you could give very clear instruction about what is to be done in this last step of the feature slider it would be greatly appreciated because I have tried I even started watching the video you recommended but its an hour long which is a bit too long

    Thanks

    Hi Sakin,

    I read it and I still can’t get it to work.  All I want to do is add in my pictures in the slider. I first go to theme options under  homepage settings enable latest posts or page. Then choose my category which I created and named it featured slide.

    Next go to the featured post slider options for featured slider post #1 I click edit, I then create a new post name it Post#1, click the category featured slide, then I figured the correct thing to do is choose featured image and upload my image. I hit update, and nothing is working. Am I missing a few steps? Does the format have to be something specific  am I uploading the image to the correct area? Please help?

    In theme options– then to homepage options—homepage featured content option– then I just uploaded the pictures I wanted, put in a title and left the description blank.

    @CFarone: If you just want the slider and Featured Content. Then go to “Appearance => Theme Options => Homepage Settings => Homepage / Frontpage Settings”, uncheck “Enable Latest Posts or Page?”

    @Cryptit: We have featured image slider in all our paid version of theme. In recent update, we are adding in option to choose from “Featured Post Slider”, “Featured Page Slider”, “Featured Category Slider” and “Featured Image Slider”. We will have this option in Catch Everest Pro version.
