I am also having this same problem.  On my mac laptop, the center column does not extend to the full width of the slideshow banner, even after I’d disabled the left or right columns in layout options. I am wanting to make the center column width the same as the slideshow banner.  Is there an easy way to do this??  I’m attempting to attach a screen shot showing the bottom of my slideshow banner and the top of the center column, hope it works:
