MichaelaParticipant
Thanks Sakin. I’ll try some of those plugins.
I finally found out why Jetpack didn’t work for me: it’s not compatible with EasyRotator plugin.MichaelaParticipantThanks Sakin.
The gallery option is good, but is there a way how I can make links out of the captions? By clicking either on the picture or the caption the reader should be able to get to another website.
Which responsive columns plugin are you talking about?
I’d love to use Jetpack, but I can’t connect to wordpress.com to get it started. And there is no way to contact those developers. Any idea/contacts at Jetpack?
CheersMichaelaParticipantHi Sakin,
great, thanks a lot for the info.
Just to verify answer 2): you really don’t want to define the width of the “#secondary” in a screen width of 1344px, as it’s not listed in the CSS code you gave?:
@media screen and (max-width: 1344px) {
#primary { width: 840px; }
}Where can I choose the optional sidebars you mentioned in 3)?
Thanks,
MichaelaMichaelaParticipantThat’s it! Great, thanks a lot!
MichaelaParticipantNo, unfortunately that’s not it. Please check the page http://travelintense.com/equipment/gadgets/binoculars/ and read the second paragraph. Here, the following words are split in Firefox, eventhough it’s not necessary and it just looks weird: vi-sion, im-age, al-lows, trav-eling, com-pact. Any ideas why?
MichaelaParticipantI have the same issues as Kardaya and Harpagust. In Firefox, every second line has a split word in the end (e.g. vi-sion), whereas in Chrome it looks fine (vision). How can I change this? Is there maybe an option where I can say I only want words split which are longer than 10 letters?
MichaelaParticipantHi Sakin,
I know some coding, so I made the following changes:
#featured-post .post {margin-left: 5px; width: 20%;}
I would now have some space in the featured content section or a fourth column, but unfortunately it always shows up in a second row. I think I could change this by adjusting the file catcheverest-functions.php. What do I need to do here?
Cheers.
MichaelaParticipantThere we go! Thanks a lot, it works now.
MichaelaParticipantHi Sakin,
I only want a very simple menu: home – destinations – equipment – …
If you hover on top of equipment, I do not want to have the subpages (water sports equipment, etc.) showing up.But when I’m on one of the subpages, I would like to have “equipment” in the menu bar highlighted. Is that possible?
Cheers.
MichaelaParticipantHi Sakin,
great, thanks a lot for the tip with Breadcrumb NavXT, it works great.
Interesting to hear that you actually have active menu highlighted in the sub menus. Could you please check the following two pages of mine, as it doesn’t seem to work here:
http://travelintense.com/equipment/camping-gear/
http://travelintense.com/equipment/camping-gear/sleeping-bag
Cheers!MichaelaParticipantGreat, thanks a lot for the option. I’ll get the Pro Version then.
MichaelaParticipantThat was it: The search box was in one of my footer widgets. I just didn’t know I could remove it that easily, as it was there from the beginning. Thanks a lot for this quick help!
