Hello, Skandha,
Thank you again for responding so fast! Because of the need to complete the website on schedule, I can not post a blurry image example. I was just wondering if this was a known issue that the photos looked fine when assigned a filename like the demo images such as “gallery-1.jpg” rather than a different name. It seems like a weird work-around but the photos were no longer blurry with the filename switch. Other than that, the Catch Vogue Premium theme makes for a very attractive website.
Thanks,
EvanEvan MannParticipantHello, Skandha,
Thank you for responding so quickly. Yes, I see that the amount of text will determine how much of an image is displayed. And I see it needs to be exactly 600 x 600 or the theme will generate its own set of sizes which are not sharpened when resized.
I have another blurry photo situation I discovered….
I noticed when I add a photo to the Catch Theme Gallery that it must be labeled as “gallery-1” (or some other number) otherwise it too will be blurry when it is displayed in the carousel. Is this the case? I know when I have a different filename, it looks blurry.
Thanks,
Evan
Evan MannParticipantHello–
As I continue to solve this issue, I checked the upload folder and saw that the theme generates multiple image sizes.
I looked at the source code and saw that the theme was using a generated 600×600 jpg for the “About Hilary” image, so I created my own 600×600 jpg using Affinity Photo that kept its sharpness and replaced it by FTPing the photo into the upload folder.
So you will now see a sharp photo. But, is there any way to get a photo that does not look blurry using the theme?

Evan MannParticipantHello, Skandra–
Your instructions to remove the Header Media worked:Go to => Appearance => Customize => Header Media => Remove Header Media Url and Header Media Url Text and Publish
Thank you!
–Evan
Evan MannParticipantHello, Skandha–
Here is the site with the Header Media button disabled: The image is gone but the section remains.demo.hilarymann.com
Thanks,
EvanEvan MannParticipantHello, Skandra–
Thank you, but using display:none has removed it. I imagine not many people want to remove the header image, so maybe that is why this issue has not been encountered before.–Evan
Evan MannParticipantSince the Disable button for the Header image section does not work in the Catch Vogue Pro template, I used display:none to remove it:
.home .custom-header {
height: 100vh;
background-size: cover;
display: none;
}–Evan
Evan MannParticipantHello, Skandha–
Unfortunately, I tried that already—it does not disable the header media. I tried removing the image but the header section area remains even with the photo removed.Any ideas?
–Evan
Evan MannParticipantYes, it did. Thanks!
Evan MannParticipantThank you for your quick reponse. That worked. FYI, I read another post that indicated that I needed to download Contact Form 7 plugin because the “Reservation” contact form did not display.
