DeborahParticipant
The white space or background image areas keep appearing, even though I have not changed CSS.
DeborahParticipantNow the blank space is gone in the widget, but my background image appears well below the footer. Even if I turn off the background image, I see blank space below the footer on my iPad. Scroll down and see.
DeborahParticipantLook at the “search by topic” list in the right sidebar widget. There’s a lot of white space at the end of the list. (As viewed on an iPad)
If I could attach a screenshot, I would.

I have contacted WordPress about the problem with the FB and LinkedIn share errors.
February 15, 2019 at 8:54 pm in reply to: Update won’t download, and feature images not working with social share #165971DeborahParticipantEdit to my original post. I was able to download the update, but got an error on the installation via my WordPress dashboard.
DeborahParticipant@skandha:
The buttons should be directly below the body text of the post, and above the social share buttons and any ads.Thank you for asking.
DeborahParticipantI did try that on this post
https://independentamericancommunities.com/2019/01/29/pay-condo-hoa-fees-home-safe/But I ran into problems. First of all, I had to use a PC to add the tag. It wouldn’t work with an iPad, even using a browser instead of the app.
Then, when the post published, I got emails from subscribers saying they couldn’t advance to the next page. The problem was that the user had to scroll down below the social share buttons and the WordAds to find the PAGE buttons. So I chose to disable the pagination instead.
Just thought you’d be interested in the feedback. I would like to occasionally divide my posts into pages, particularly if they are long posts. But I cannot lose readers who can’t find the buttons to move onto page 2!
DeborahParticipantSorry, I forgot
https://independentamericancommunities.com/
Also, I am unable to add the next page tags while using an iPad. It only works on the PC/laptop.(Apple)
DeborahParticipant@sapana — turning off all plugins and turning back on made no difference, I still see the update theme notifications for both Catchbox and Catchbox Pro.
The Catchbox (regular version) updated as expected.
But when I tried updating the Catchbox Pro theme, I got this error message.
“An error occurred while updating Catch Box Pro: Update package not available.”
DeborahParticipant@Skandha
I was able to get the ads back in the sidebar by disabling the “second ad under post” in my WP Jetpack settings. But I don’t know why that matters, because I was able to have two ads under each post before, in addition to widget ads in the sidebar….
DeborahParticipantI’ll look into the child theme suggestions.
I have another problem now. All of a sudden, my WordAds are not appearing in the main sidebar on my homepage. The ad widgets DO appear in the sidebars of posts and pages.
My home page is my blog excerpts.
I checked my widgets settings, and the WordAd (Jetpack) widgets are still there and active. So I should see the ads on the homepage. What is wrong, and how can I fix it?
DeborahParticipant@sapana: Following your instructions – I deactivated all the plug-ins except the Classic Editor. I still see the notifications as in the Original Post Question.
If I switch to another theme, what happens to my CatchBox Pro and all the customization?
Do I switch back to CatchBox Pro before activating all the plugins again?
DeborahParticipantSapana
I do not understand.
I did not add any CSS. I do not know how to add CSS code.
I used the regular “customization” that comes with the parent theme. (fonts, colors, background images, slider, etc.) I want to know, if I update the theme, will I lose all of these changes?
