    I’d like to to show one of the optional sidebar widgets (Optional Sidebar One for example) on a particular page. The default layout for the site is “No Sidebar (Full Width)”. In the page layout options I’m not sure what to choose: “Default” isn’t right because that doesn’t show a sidebar, the two “Primary Sidebar” options aren’t right because I don’t want the Primary Sidebar and the other three options are “No Sidebar *”.

    What do I do? I’ve tried all the combinations I can think of but the sidebar never shows.

    Thanks,
    Alex

    @catchhab: Hello Alex,
    Can you please post in the URL of the page where you want to have the optional sidebar?

    Kind Regards,

    Here’s an example of a page where I’d like a sidebar: http://dev.ucw.org/childrenandfamilies/youth/

    @catchhab: Hello Alex,
    For that first edit the page Youth and Select Sidebar as Optional Sidebar One.

    Then,
    Go to => Appearance => Customize => Widgets => Optional Sidebar One => Add your widgets and Publish.

    Let me know if this works out!
    Kind Regards,

    Thanks @Skandha. What should I choose for Layout Options? None of them seem to have any effect. The sidebar doesn’t appear.

    @catchhab: Hello Alex,
    You need not change the Layout Options.

    Please follow the instruction on my previous reply.

    Let me know if you are still having issues setting up a sidebar on that page.
    Kind Regards,
    Skandha

    Hi Skandha,
    Yes still having the same problem: the sidebar doesn’t appear.

    The HTML for the page includes .no-sidebar in the body classes:

    `<body class=”page-template-default page page-id-20924 page-child parent-pageid-23042 logged-in admin-bar no-customize-support custom-background wp-custom-logo group-blog no-sidebar full-width excerpt-image-left mobile-menu-two”>

    Not sure if that is relevant…

    Thanks,
    Alex

    @catchhab: Hello Alex,
    I will need to look into your site to debug the issue. I have sent you an email. Please check your inbox as well as the spam folder.

    Kind Regards,
    Skandha
