In the free demo I have the Header Media (Appearance => Customize => Header Media => Enable on) set to “Entire Site, Page/Post Featured Image”.

In a Post, this allows me to choose “Disable” from the Header Featured Image Options, and it does disable the featured image in Posts, correctly.

Choosing “Disable” in Portfolio Projects, however, does not remove the featured image from the Project pages. See this Project. I have selected “Disable”, but as you can see, the featured image is not disabled. In fact, when I close the Project and open it again, my “Disable” choice returns to “Default”.
