    Hello, I have taken over administrating a website for my choir.

    I’ve not used wordpress before but so far it went well. However, yesterday for a reason I couldn’t yet find out, the main slider suddenly started being displayed over the content of the page that is loaded. Normally, the content would start below the slider. Also, both the slider navigation dots and arrows have also moved up to the top of the page from where they should be.

    This is the website in question: http://pattu.diskstation.me/wordpress/

    The really strange part is, that the page content first in loaded in the correct spot below the slider images, but then moves up to be covered by it.

    Best regards and thank you for any help

    Jannis

    @wilderja: Hello Jannis,

    You seem to be using an older version of the theme. Can you please update the theme to the latest version?

    Also try deactivating  JW Player 7 for WP which seems to be causing the issue.

    Let me know if the issue persists!
    Kind Regards,
    Skandha

    Hello, thank you for your help so far!

    I have deactivated JW Player and updated the theme, however the issue still persists.

    One thing I can think of I did was change the size of the featured image size from 750×499 to 750×322 pixels, to keep the same aspect ratio as the sliders images (as I want all the images to consistently show the same part of the image).

    I’m not sure if this was what triggered the problem but it’s the only thing I changed in the theme files.
    However, even putting the size back to 750×499 pixels and then regenerating all thumbnails did not solve the issue. I hope there is something other that I can do to fix it.

    Best regards

    Jannis

    @wilderja: Hello Jannis,

    I checked your site now and the Slider and slider dots & navs seems to be showing up correctly. Please try clearing your browser cache and check again.
    Kind Regards,
    Skandha

    You were completely right, after deleting cache everything worked, thanks a lot.

    I have another question though if that’s okay. How would it be possible to prevent such caching errors? If other users visit the site and I then make changes, how can I ensure all users visit the site in it’s up to date form?

    I hope it’s okay to ask off topic like this but anyways already thank you for your help.

    Best regards

    Jannis

    @wilderja: Hello Jannis,

    If you are not using a caching plugin you can ask your web server to clear the site cache or ask theme how you can clear the cache.

    I hope I was able to resolve your issue. If it’s not too much trouble, I have a quick request: could you please leave an honest review?

    Your review will help others know what to expect when they’re looking for the support I offer. Even a sentence or two would be hugely appreciated. Thanks, and if there’s anything else at all that I can do to help, don’t hesitate to let me know. Have a good day! 🙂

    Kind Regards,
    Skandha
