I’m new to WordPress, and need some help with Catch Everest. I like the theme, and I was able to set up menus, images, html stuff, but…. I can’t figure out how to make the pictures of Mount Everest, etc. into the pictures I actually want! My web address is http://www.classictheaterguild.com. For right now, I switched to CatchBox, which doesn’t have the Everest pictures at all, but I really preferred the Everest design with the sliding pictures. I tried setting a Featured Image, but it didn’t seem to do anything.
Can anybody help?
March 23, 2013 at 1:08 am #5684SakinKeymaster@classictheaterguild: I think you are talking about featured Post Slider.
Check out the Theme Instruction http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/catch-everest/ .See this from Theme Instruction pageHow to add Featured Post Slider
Currently this theme only support Posts as the Featured Slider. To add Featured Slider, follow these basic steps:
1. Click on Appearance -> Theme Options -> Featured Post Slider from your WordPress Dashboard.
2. Click on Slider Options to select various slider options like enable slider, number of slides, transition effect, transition delay and transition length
3. Then Click on Featured Post Slider Options and Add in the Post ID’s in Featured Slider Posts.
4. Click on Save button.Note:
* When you add the Post Id\’s, make sure you have added in the Featured Image in your Post. See this for Featured Image http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/#setting-a-featured-image
* If you are unable to find the post ID then you can install the Catch IDs Plugin to find the Post IDs. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/catch-ids/If you still have problem then this video about our other theme Simple Catch might help you as this theme also uses Featured Post Slider. Similar concept.
Maybe this video will help you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oiov0L4blIwApril 20, 2013 at 3:14 am #7362michelle2317MemberI cannot change the stock Everest images in the slider despite reading the theme instructions and going to the recommended You Tube video. This is making me crazy.

April 20, 2013 at 4:18 pm #7409SakinKeymaster@michelle2317: You site is not opening http://sweethomenaturals.com/blog/ . I think you are missing some steps. See I am trying to make it simple.
All our Free themes only have Featured Post Slider. But if you upgrade to Pro or Premium themes then you will have Featured Image slider and so on. Featured Post Slider is created to highlight your posts in the slider. To add the feature post slider, just follow the steps as below:
1. First create the Post and don’t forget to add in the Featured Image in the post as this image is used in the slider. To add featured image see this http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/#setting-a-featured-image
2. Then get the ID of the post. When you edit your post or write a post, you will see the id in your browser address bar. Also you will be able to see post id in All Posts section. But if you cannot find it then you can use this plugin to view it http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/catch-ids/
3. Then go to “Appearance => Theme Options => Featured Post Slider” and add in the post id that you want to highlightMay 27, 2013 at 8:26 pm #9531AshkanpashaMemberIt doesnt Work. Please help. May 29, 2013 at 1:28 am #9585SakinKeymaster@Ashkanpasha: It looks like you haven’t added in the post ID. Can you send me the links to your posts that you want to add in the slider then I will tell you the ID that you need to add in “Appearance => Theme Options => Featured Post Slider”
June 9, 2013 at 9:55 am #10176bobnolleyMemberSo when we DO create posts and added in the post IDs, then the images we are seeing at installation will stop rotating, correct?
Thanks!
June 9, 2013 at 1:58 pm #10182SakinKeymaster@bobnolley: Sorry I don’t get it what you mean. This is about setting up featured post slider.
January 4, 2014 at 9:58 am #18845RoRo74MemberGood post. Just a quick query if I may?
I also have the everest theme & am trying to add my photos to the featured post slider…..but having trouble. It all sounds simple but wall I seem to get for my end result post slider is just a link to the posts where my foto is then viewed. I cant seem to get my actual picture in the slideshow….just the heading & link.
Any feedback/ ideas would be greatly appreciated (I have the latest version of wordpress)

First, you need to add featured image in your post and then add in the post id in “Appearance => Theme Options => Featured Post Slider”. You can see the reply i gave it to michelle2317 at the top of this thread.
February 18, 2014 at 7:04 am #20491astra202MemberHey Sakin,
I am using the Free Catch Everest theme and I am following all the instructions possible to change the Everest slider picture with my own picture but does not work. I have post with Featured Image and I am trying to add in the Featured Post Slider but it does not get added or something, it is not working. Is there a better way to change the slider picture?
Thanks
AstraFebruary 18, 2014 at 9:27 am #20494SakinKeymaster@astra202: Yes, first you need to create post with featured image. See this on how to add Featured image http://www.pinterest.com/pin/548594798329948788/
Then you need to add the post ID in “Appearance => Theme Options => Featured Post Slider”. See this screenshot http://www.pinterest.com/pin/548594798329984427/
For free theme you only have option to use post slider but if you are in pro then you have more slider option like independent image slider, page slider, post slider and category slider to choose from.
Also check our theme instructions page.

Catch Everest: http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/catch-everest/February 23, 2014 at 7:56 pm #20666wirkstattnaturMemberHi there!
It seems as we have similar problems.
We’ve installed the Everest-Theme today and have changed several issues on our page.
To let the Slider work, we’ve created posts instead of sites. Everything works –
BUT NOT THE SLIDER! Eventhough we’ve added the post-IDs into the ‘Featured Post Slider Options’ – it just shows the first out of four post-Sliders. Even clicking on the arrows does not work.
HELP!
Thanks a million in advance!
Urs & Rahel from http://wirkstattnatur.chFebruary 23, 2014 at 9:24 pm #20669SakinKeymaster@wirkstattnatur: Looks like there is conflict with the plugin you have installed. Can you deactivate cyclone-slider-2 and check in.
February 23, 2014 at 9:37 pm #20671wirkstattnaturMemberWow, Sakin, you’re just GREAT!
Thanks so much – we’ve deactivated the plugin and the Everest-Slider works now.

May 1, 2014 at 4:28 am #28326zafilmMemberHey Sakin…My question is a little different….
How do I keep my featured post images on the feature slider and loose the image when you click on the feature slider. The reason I’m wondering is because the post image frame is much different than the feature slider frame.
Is it possible for me to have images on the featured slider and have more control over the images in the post?
May 1, 2014 at 10:09 am #28369SakinKeymaster@zafilm: It depend on the theme. Which theme are you using it? Post in your site URL and then I will check in.
May 10, 2014 at 1:03 pm #29905laura.leeMemberI like this theme. I just set it up and am starting to use it.
1. I have the featured post slider up and running. I resized my pics to be a uniform height. I am just fine with that they are not full size width. But, if possible, I would like to slide them all the way over to the right in the featured post slider pic area. I created a child theme. Is there any code anyone knows that I could clip and paste to move those featured post slider pics to align to the right… leaving the text aligned left??
2. Featured images are working great in posts and category archives. But, featured images is not showing up for me for pages. (On this, if it doesn’t work for me… it looks kind of nice to have no pics for the pages anyway… I can accept it… but checking on that).
Thanks for a great theme… I’m very happy with it all in all having just started to try it out. I hope to be able to just keep using it, and upgrade to pro to get font colors later.
Thank you.

1. To align slider image to the right, you can add the following css in “Appearance => Theme Options => Custom CSS” box.
.featured-slider .slides img { float: right; }
2. This one I am bit confused what you are talking about. If you are talking about the Featured Image the post title. Then yes, it’s not there above Page Title.
