I have a custom header image set for my home page only. The problem is sometimes it randomly disappears when I view the page. But as soon as I click on ‘customize’ it reappears.

Any idea what might be causing this? I’ve tried disabling all of my plugins, thinking it might be a conflict with one of them, but that didn’t seem to fix the issue either.

The site URL is: http://matureservices.org/bg_matureservices.org/ (right now it appears the header image is showing correctly)

Any help would be appreciated!

@media6 : Can you please post the URL of the header image that you have set as custom header on your site. The header image is not appearing on my end.

@media6 : Please try activating the parent theme as you are using a child theme and let me know if the problem with header image continues with the parent theme as well. If it works fine with the parent theme then there may be problem with child theme customization.

I think this may have fixed it. However, I’ve read that you’re always supposed to use a child theme so you don’t lose all of your custom code/settings when the theme updates. Is there another plugin or method you recommend using that would be more compatible?

@media6 : Yes, you are right its better to use a child theme for custom code/settings to remain when you update the theme. I recommend you to use a child theme but using a child theme will not create problems like disappearance of header image. please check the code of your child theme properly so that it doesn’t affects the functionality of the parent theme. There should be problem with your child theme customization. let me know if you need further assistance.
