LOVE the Rock Star Pro theme Version: 2.1.6, but I’ve suddenly hit a significant development snag.

FAILURE MODE: Featured Slider has developed “setup amnesia” and won’t display its setup options page correctly.

DESCRIPTION: The Featured Slider is still working on the Main Page just as I set it up on the site weeks ago (4 custom photos with no associated links), but now, when I go to Appearance/Customizing/Featured Slider area to attempt to make changes, ALL of the Featured Slider options have disappeared in Chrome, along with the Preview Panel on the right.

LINKS: Here is the website itself showing the Featured Slider in action as originally designed…

    FreeWorld Memphis
    http://freeworldmemphis.com/

Here’s a screencap of what the Featured Slider options section looks like under Chrome:

And here’s a screencap of what the Featured Slider options look like using FireFox:
    http://freeworldmemphis.com/FeaturedSliderSectionFailureFIREFOX.png

As the screencap shows, using Firefox I can see the Preview Panel behaving normally to the right, and the Featured Slider basic options are shown set correctly (set for 4 photos, etc), but there are no images shown under Featured Slide #1, 2, etc.

QUESTION 1: How do I get the Featured Slider customizing section functional (preferably under Chrome which is my browser of choice)?

QUESTION 2: What steps can be taken to ensure this problem doesn’t reoccur?

NOTE: I cleared caches and removed all addons and plugins from both browsers during testing with no improvement in function.

Please let me know if any further information is required to help in your diagnosis. Of course, I’ll be more than happy to run further checks and tests to assist with the problem’s resolution.

Thank you in advance for your assistance with this very frustrating kink in our website development! FreeWorld is releasing their new CD in less than a month and the Featured Slider is going to be a vital part of the advertising.

    Hi @SteveCox,

It looks like plugin conflict. Try this tutorial: https://catchthemes.com/wordpress-tutorials/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts-with-our-themes/

Let me know how it goes.

    Regards,

I am running a total of nine WordPress plugins on the site. I disabled them all and no improvement.

    What next?

I’d appreciate if someone on your side could really take a close look at this problem in the next day or so. My client is getting rightfully concerned about not being able to edit that critical content area. I am too close to the finish line designing the site to switch themes easily, especially since the band loves ROCK STAR PRO’s look and so do I.

    Awaiting further instruction…
    …Steve

    Hi Steve,

There is an issue in chrome which is as follows:

Refused to display 'http://freeworldmemphis.com/?customize_changeset_uuid=959cb40c-7789-487f-9330-f159400b7262&customize_theme=rock-star-pro&customize_messenger_channel=preview-0' in a frame because an ancestor violates the following Content Security Policy directive: "frame-ancestors http://FreeWorldmemphis.com".

This is not a theme issue. I have changed the theme to Twenty Seventeen default theme and the issue still occurs. You can check it now. There is something wrong with the way the site is setup. May be domain/subdomain issue.

For further resolution please get professional help or check: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/31944552/iframe-refuses-to-display

    Regards,
    Pratik
