Hi there> I’m using Chicago Free. Great theme – thanks for developing. Easy to use, plus lots of features. Running into issue where main sidebar is showing up above the header rather than on the side. See blog page here . . . . http://www.nikitadevereaux.com/blog/ Can you help?
Also, can’t seem to get Promotion Headline to show up on entire page — even tho’ it is enabled on entire site.
July 28, 2015 at 6:00 am #61637SakinKeymaster@Nikita Devereaux: Thanks for your appreciation. I just check in your site and found that the position of your sidebar in the code level if different then in our theme. We have call sidebar after “Primary” div but in your site is has been called earlier at the top before header. That is why it is creating issue like this. Please revert back your changes made. Check you index.php, single.php, page.php and then check for
<?php get_sidebar(); ?>
it should be just above<?php get_footer(); ?>
. See for example, https://themes.svn.wordpress.org/chicago/1.0/index.phpJuly 28, 2015 at 7:23 am #61648Nikita DevereauxParticipantSakin, thanks for your help here. I’m afraid, however, you’ve given me too much credit! LOL. I have not made any changes to the code. Just installed the theme and used Theme Customization options included in WP-Admin. The sidebar was out of place from the time I installed.
I did go to check the code in Theme –> Edit. The code is just as you state it should be with “php get sidebar” directly above “php get footer” at the very bottom of index.php. Something else must be causing this error. Please help!

July 28, 2015 at 8:59 am #61652Nikita DevereauxParticipantOkay, never mind the problem with the sidebar. I reset all my settings and started from scratch. Seems to have resolved the issue. If you could just help with the promo headline, I’d appreciate it.
July 30, 2015 at 11:55 pm #61837SakinKeymaster@Nikita Devereaux: I just check in detail for Promotion headline and found that there is missing file. We have fixed in new version 1.1, Also attributed your name as reported by in change log and have submitted to WordPress.org. This is free themes. So, WordPress.org theme review need to make it approved and live to get update directly.
But for now, you can download version 1.1 from https://wordpress.org/themes/download/chicago.1.1.zip?nostats=1. Then you can install plugin Catch Updater from http://catchthemes.com/wp-plugins/catch-updater/ and intall plugin from “Plugins => Add New => Uploads”. After you activate this plugin, you can upload this new theme zip file from “Appearance => Themes => Add New => Uploads”
