I kno9w this has been answered a number of times but it seems like it is all theme related so I have to tell you what theme. This would be the little search logo in the upper right of the page.

Also, my daughter will be buying the PRO version over the weekend so do I need code for that one or can it be taken out through a menu action?

@btcbtc: Hello there,
Go to => Appearance => Customize => Additional CSS and add the following CSS Code.

.mobile-social-search .search-container, #primary-search-wrapper {
    display: none !important;
}

You will need to use this code for the Pro version of the theme as well.
