RodeBoyParticipant
Hello again, I have just received the same message for my http://www.drumteacher.co.uk site which is built in the same way. My background image is 1920 x 1080 which I believe is the recommended size.
I am beginning to think that there might be a small issue with the responsive nature of the theme, but I welcome your comments and will be happy to be proved wrong!
Thanks for your time, Chris
RodeBoyParticipantAny update on this Skandha? Thanks
RodeBoyParticipantThanks Skandha. I just realised that in settings for the background image I had image positioning as <= rather than centre. So I have corrected this and at this stage have not added your CSS coding as this doesn’t seem to make any difference. How does it appear for you? Should I still add the code?
I’m very sorry I didn’t put the full report in the original message. It states “Content wider than screen” and “Clickable elements too close together”. Both relate to the home page. I think I have resolved the latter as there were a couple of links in the footer which were close … unless you can see something else.
Interestingly if I run the page through their mobility test it passes without issues.
I look forward to hearing from you with interest!
RodeBoyParticipantThanks. I was looking to try and have different text in each button, in the same way it is shown on the demo version. Is this possible?
RodeBoyParticipantI’ve just sorted this Tikaram!! Rather than have the two testimonial changes in one CSS coding I have inserted them as two separate ones. It all seems happy with itself now!
Thanks for your help
RodeBoyParticipantThank you Tikaram. I need these changes to apply only to post 1059 (the CV page) so I have added
.page-id-1059
in front of these two CSS codes which I believe is correct. The revised code for the video embed works a treat, as does the one for the testimonial for this page. However the same testimonial appears on the Biography page and the code has changed the h3 on this page to the same colour, when it needs to be left alone.
Any ideas?
Cheers, Chris
RodeBoyParticipantThanks Mahesh, I have added the CSS code to the other sites as a back up!!
Feedback left. I would appreciate you contacting me using the contact page on the site we have been discussing if you are able.
Thanks, Chris
RodeBoyParticipantThanks Mahesh, as always your solution works perfectly. It does seem strange that this issue does not happen on the other theme I use it with, but no worries! It’s a great plugin, but can be somewhat temperamental at times.
Regards, Chris
RodeBoyParticipantHi Mahesh could I ask you to look at a further issue with this same site please? If you go to the GIGS page and click on a + for any of the events you will see that it opens up into a box where the image is left aligned. By clicking on READ MORE the full event listing page will appear, where the image is centred. On all events I have the image coded as centred, and where I use this plugin with a different theme the image is indeed centred throughout. I have compared all settings and they are the same – with the Rock Star theme and the other.
There would appear to be a minor conflict between the plugin and Rock Star theme. Are you able to provided me with any ideas why please? If there is some CSS code to sort it that would be great.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards, Chris
RodeBoyParticipantVery strange Mahesh. No nothing changed since this recent theme update. The only thing was that I was trying to attempt to correct the layout once I noticed they were stacked following the update, by amending the settings in the image widget. They are now back to as they were.
You have helped me on this site before so you may remember how the widgets looked then. They were definitely in line, other than on the iphone.
RodeBoyParticipantThanks Mahesh, the CSS works great. However, prior to this recent update these three widgets were displaying in a single line on my site (without additional CSS), so it appears that it is only this recent version that changed things. Is that correct?
RodeBoyParticipantAs I said Mahesh, it works perfectly and I would respectfully suggest that this code is included into the main theme code within the next update. I am no expert, but I hope that my constructive feedback helps. Thanks again for a great theme and all your time helping me.
Chris
RodeBoyParticipantWorks a treat! Many thanks Mahesh
RodeBoyParticipantAny thoughts on this Mahesh? I have now removed the last CSS code to avoid the large blank space.
Thanks, Chris
RodeBoyParticipantIn addition Mahesh I have just noticed that on the non-home pages (on iphone portrait) there is a large black space at the top. This would appear to be as a result of this code. Would it be better to adjust the position of the home page slider, rather than the header which appears on all pages?
I have left this code in there at the moment so you can see what I mean.
Cheers, Chris
RodeBoyParticipantThanks Mahesh – prompt and helpful as always.
This does the job, but then when I scroll down I lose the header and menu. Is there a way to keep it displaying whilst the rest of the content disappears behind it?
Many thanks, Chris
RodeBoyParticipantHi Mahesh, I have one more question in connection with the same site http://www.mattfurness.co.uk
On my iphone when viewing the site in portrait mode as the slider is small it is virtually covered by the header/menu. This is not a problem in desktop view, on my laptop, as the slider image is large enough to carry this. Is there a way around that? Maybe by not overlaying the header/menu over the slider … but just on the mobile view? Is there a CSS coding I could use?
I look forward to hearing from you with interest.
Thank you for your time,
Chris
RodeBoyParticipantLovely job Mahesh – thanks.
It is still showing some hyphens on the mobile version though. Is that likely to be a cache issue? I have cleared it within WP Admin.
Chris
RodeBoyParticipantA further question Mahesh please. It appears that auto-hyphenation is set up within the theme and on some pages there are simply too many words which are being hyphenated. Is there a CSS code I can use to remove this please?
Thanks Chris
RodeBoyParticipantThanks for your comments Mahesh. I’ll certainly ask if I need further help!
