RodeBoyParticipant
Thanks for getting back to me Tikaram. There is one issue which I can’t seem to resolve for this site and that is the size of the Testimonials section on a desktop (mobile is fine). It’s too big and disproportionate to the rest of the page. It’s probably partly due to the size of the background image. So can you please let me know 1) the best size for the background image and 2) the CSS code to restrict the height of the section to XXX pixels please?
Many thanks, Chris
RodeBoyParticipantI managed to get the CSS coding right in the end! All done.
RodeBoyParticipantYes I did, and I always do! Not surprisingly I didn’t realise you had replied on this thread! Ha Ha! Don’t worry!
RodeBoyParticipantYes thank you, all sorted. Still not receiving notification emails from you when tickets are updated!
Cheers, Chris
RodeBoyParticipantThank you Skandha for your prompt attention here. I think it was an important fix for the theme hence me including URGENT in the title – I know everyone will consider their own issue as urgent but this appeared, and was, a generic one!
Cheers, Chris
RodeBoyParticipantI should add that this displays on your demo site too, so I guess it’s a bug in the theme.
RodeBoyParticipantThanks Skandha, I have only just seen this as I didn’t get a notification email through – no probs.
I have placed the code in there but using Inspect it appears to me that the large amount of padding is coming from fp-tableCell. Does it need a different CSS code?
Chris
RodeBoyParticipantThanks for your prompt response Sapana. So, as far as you can see I have done nothing wrong in the way I have set the website up. Correct?
It would appear that the only way around this to display the full image is to create an image with the recommended sizes but with a wider border around the keys parts of the image. Do you agree?
Thanks, Chris
RodeBoyParticipantThanks Skandha, all working fine now.
Chris
RodeBoyParticipantHi Skandha, any updates on this?
Chris
RodeBoyParticipantHi Skandha, I have updated the theme but the issue is still there.
Thanks, Chris
RodeBoyParticipantHi Skandha, yes I agree that there is that huge gap. However there is no Additional CSS which generates that, so I guess it must come straight from the theme itself. Is there a way of adjusting it within the customise options?
Secondly if you click on ‘Musicians’ (the menu displays) then on ‘About Us’ the menu displays. So it is only when you come directly from the initial page load that the menu disappears. Strange! Any thoughts?
Chris
RodeBoyParticipantThanks Skandha. All the anchor links are now working fine. One small issue is that, for me, having arrived at the home page and then clicking the ABOUT US link in the menu whilst I am taken to the correct section I lose the menu along the top?!
RodeBoyParticipantUnfortunately not Skandha, so I have reverted back to #section5
RodeBoyParticipantHi Skandha, I use the free version of WP Fastest Cache on all my websites, other than MattFurness where I have the Pro version in place. Surely this should all help.
To be fair both MattFurness and SessionDrummer feature well on Google Searches so I don’t think the page speed is having an overly negative effect. Therefore I won’t change things here, but I thought the feedback for yourselves of the impact the Catch plugin has would be useful, and may give you ‘food for thought’ on improving the Pro theme further.
RodeBoyParticipantUsing the SessionDrummer website I have just performed tests using PageSpeed Insights both with and without the videos (they are back in again now) Results as follows;
Mobile – 28 (with videos), 77 (without)
Desktop – 44 (with videos), 98 (without)I am no programmer but it certainly seems that the way the videos are loaded affects things. I use the YouTube plugin by EmbedPlus on another site, with a different theme, to display YouTube videos and it only has a minimal affect on loading times.
I hope you can find the issue which is causing this.
Regards and thanks,
Chris
RodeBoyParticipantThanks Skandha, can you let me know the correct anchor link for the footer where the contact form is on the site I mentioned please? I am currently using #section5, which as you say works, but if I add a section further up the page probably will not any longer!
RodeBoyParticipantHi Skandha, have you had a chance to look into the reports I sent through on the three sites? Many thanks for your time, Chris
RodeBoyParticipantHi Skandha, yes the link works as I identified an id from inspecting it. But I am having to use something different to that shown in the customizer. I was just pointing out that the issue you identified on 2nd April above still exists!
RodeBoyParticipantSkandha, the anchor ids section in the customizer is still not right …
What is the anchor id for the footer widgets section please? I need it for jazzjam.org.uk.
