@tikaram : I was able to recover most of our work by reverting back the global styles.  Initially I couldn’t get into the styles section to do this because all pages in the editor just churned.  However, I found that the 404 template would eventually load and allow access to the styles editor.   Still not sure exactly what within the styles is incompatible with the theme.
