And the section you have referenced is the content of the static page. This will only show up in the home page if you have assigned the static front page.

@iamsupermike: Well, the code works fine, you can check the space in the header image. But in Slider, you are using background image, I have know idea why you are doing that. And because of that, the issue is there in slider section.

2. Go to Dashboard=> Appearance=> Customize=> Additional CSS box and add the following CSS:

}

The following code to change the color of menu items on hover, since the default is white and won’t be visible after the above change.

#site-navigation ul li a:hover, #site-navigation ul li a:focus, #site-navigation ul .current-menu-item a, #site-navigation ul li:hover > a, #site-navigation ul li:focus > a {
    color: #000fff;
}

Note: Change the color as desired.

@creativesigns: Yes, as with the update, Custom CSS option of the theme will be disabled. However, everything in it will be successfully migrated to Dashbaord=> Appearance=> Customize=> Additional CSS. So if you want to edit anything, you can edit in there.
