Hi,
It’s still not working. Please see the attached screenshot – https://snag.gy/oVYOaM.jpgHow can this be fixed?
Thank you.
FMDecember 10, 2017 at 12:33 am in reply to: Featured Slider images not displaying in Google Chrome #127722fmck718ParticipantHi – I reduced the file size of all the slider images. The problem then appears to go away for a bit (i.e. the page displays correctly), but the issue recurs whenever I check back after a little while.
At this point, I’d prefer to just lose the slider altogether and go with a static hero image. Is that possible? I’ve tried using just one slide within the Featured Slider, but the arrows still show up on the right side of the hero image – even though there aren’t any other slides. (See lower right corner of this screenshot – https://snag.gy/043jIe.jpg)
Please help.
Thanks.
FMfmck718ParticipantHi Mahesh,
Apologies if I’m using the wrong terminology. I took a screenshot of what I’m talking about – https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/27224338/GreyBorderonMobileSite.jpgI’ve inserted black arrows in the screenshot to show you what I would like to remove from the mobile experience (the grey border/background). Once the background is removed, the content should extend to the edges of the screen. Right now, the gray background is forcing all content into a very tight space in the middle.
Hope this makes it clearer for you.
Thanks.
FMfmck718ParticipantHi Mahesh,
Thanks for the quick response. I added the Custom CSS as instructed. However, nothing has changed.I would like the gray border removed from smaller viewing platforms (like mobile phones) only. I’m hoping to keep the gray border on bigger viewing platforms (like desktop computers). Can you let me know if there is another way to fix this?
Thanks.
FMfmck718ParticipantAwesome. Thanks as always.
fmck718ParticipantGreat. Is this a specific code for just this post? Or, will it remove the shadow effect from all images on the site? (My preference is to keep the shadow on most images.)
fmck718ParticipantSakin,
Can you tell me how to remove the shadow from the Johns Hopkins logo on this post as well? Thanks.
fmck718ParticipantWorks perfectly. Thanks.
fmck718ParticipantRe: #1 – my original ‘main’ blog page was http://sorrows.wpengine.com/latest-posts/. In the sidebar, I have Archives and Categories displaying.
However, in my new ‘main’ blog page (http://sorrows.wpengine.com/school-blog/), the Facebook Likes plugin is there instead. I would prefer to have Archives and Categories display on this page, but I can’t figure out how to do it. Can you help?
Re: #2 – thanks for the tip. I’ll look into that.
fmck718ParticipantThanks for the tips, Sakin. I seem to be getting closer, but there are a few things that still aren’t displaying as intended.
1. I followed your instructions for hiding “This Week’s News”, but now my “Optional Sidebar One” widgets have stopped displaying on the (new) main Blog page. Can you help me get them back?
2. I have the Categories widget set to display on all interior ‘pages’. Is there a way to hide “This Week’s News” from displaying within the Categories widget?
Much appreciated.
fmck718ParticipantHi Sakin,
I’m not sure why, but the “Homepage Featured Content” section (which you helped me hide last week) has now reappeared on mobile phones. I don’t believe that I’ve modified anything related to that, but do you have any suggestions for how to fix? (My site is sorrows.wpengine.com)Thanks.
fmck718ParticipantThanks for the quick response. I will try out #1 later today.
As for #2, my concern is that the Featured Post widget isn’t displaying the post accurately. When viewing the actual post, there are 6 links. However, when that same post is displayed via the Featured Post Widget, all the links disappear, and so do the line breaks. So, the post looks like a bunch of words strung together. Please view my homepage – sorrows.wpengine.com – to see what I mean. Any ideas on how to fix?
fmck718ParticipantPerfect, as usual. Thanks.
fmck718ParticipantAwesome! Thank you very much.
fmck718ParticipantThank you very much!
fmck718ParticipantGot it. Thanks for the quick response.
fmck718ParticipantFantastic. Thank you very much for the info. Related to question #1, is it possible to hide the “Homepage Featured Content” section on mobile phones as well? (Same issue as above – I think this section works well on desktop, but it’s a lot of info to read on a mobile phone.)
Thanks again.
fmck718ParticipantOK, I think I’ve found a solution that’s native to Catch Everest, but I’m not sure how to implement it.
In the Catch Everest ‘demo’ (http://catchthemes.com/demo/catch-everest/), there is a bottom section with a “Catch Everest Pro Text Widgets” headline. This is similar to what I’m looking for. But, I can’t figure out how to create that headline. Can you help?
(When I upgraded to ‘Pro’, my changes must have overridden this area.)
Thanks.
fmck718ParticipantThat’s unfortunate. One other thought – is there a way to ‘duplicate’ the Homepage Headline area (headline, subheadline, background) so that this functionality appears in two places on the homepage?
i.e. If I could duplicate the area that currently says “A top notch education experience…”, could I potentially drop that functionality into the space where I was planning to put the blue banner?
fmck718ParticipantThis worked perfectly. Thank you very much. (I failed to mention that I’m hosting the site locally, so I don’t believe there’s a way for me to show you the live URL.)
