ParticipantHi there,
At what point was the theme updated to break my current set up? The new version has completely overridden everything I’d built previously and I don’t seem to be able to recover anything. Do you have any old versions that I can get back? I have tried rolling back using a plugin but nothing seems to work. All my styling, navigation, footer has completely gone. Please let me know as soon as possible.
Thanks

Keymaster@kodendigital: Sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. What’s your current version, and from which version did you update the theme? We haven’t down many changes to the theme to cause that issue, you can check the changelog at https://catchthemes.com/themes/alchemist/#changelog. Maybe you have an issue with your server. Can you post your site URL here?
Could you please let me know if you have a recent backup of the site from before the theme update? If you used a plugin for backups, you might be able to restore your theme to an earlier version.
Regarding your navigation, footer, and other customizations, unfortunately, if they were lost after the update, and no backup is available, it may require you to rebuild those elements.
Kind Regards,

ParticipantI have a backup back to early November – are you please able to tell me when everything changed? If not, can you tell me what’s been removed as there is tonnes of items missing from ELementor too? I’ve never seen such a catastrophic theme update, enough to wipe out an entire website.

Keymaster@kodendigital:
Sorry for the inconvenience. As mentioned earlier, we haven’t made any huge changes on the theme that would cause this issue in your theme.Have you checked with your hosting provider? Since some items are missing in Elementor, we also recommend contacting the Elementor support team. Additionally, this could be caused by a conflict with another plugin.

Keymaster@kodendigital: Can you post your site URL? Looks like you are confused about the theme. When I conducted a Google search for ‘Alchemist’ theme, I found another theme from ThemeForest as well. So, can you check if you are using our theme from WordPress.org that is https://wordpress.org/themes/alchemist/, or another theme? If you are using another theme, then you need to contact the theme author’s support.

ParticipantI am the hosting provider and have over 200 websites – this is the first one that it’s ever happened to. This is definitely the theme though.

I have worked to put a basic fix in place for the navigation, but everything else is not good. I have attached an image of how Elementor looks now, with all the sections previously containing items.

Keymaster@kodendigital: It’s strange to see your screenshot like that. Have you tried to reverting back to version 2.1 and check it? You can see the diff from the track https://themes.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?old_path=alchemist/2.1&new_path=alchemist/2.2, it’s just the removal of the conditional script for Internet Explorer versions before 9 and WordPress 6.9 compatibility testing.

ParticipantYeah I’ve reverted the theme my multiple versions but it doesn’t appear to do anything. Not sure what else this can be as it has literally broken every page, navigation and footer. It’s almost as if a plugin from your theme has been removed. Is there anything vital that it needs?
